The NFLs 2022 man of the year started the offseason last year by commending the Cowboy fans violence towards referees. 👀

Reporters doubled back and gave him a chance to retract his disgusting statement and he doubled down on it.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Pretty weak HOF class. Congrats to Dan Klecko’s dad I guess.

Ronde Barber getting in while Eric Allen still not is a sham.

Are images taking forever to load or is it just me?

Yea. It helps if you quote it for some reason.

I found it quite odd that Garrett Wilson thanking God at the beginning of his speech elicited so much applause.  It was like they were expecting God to come out and take a bow.

When the other 30 teams are in the SB. Philly fans "I hope its a good game"  (Not counting Dallas because they can't get to a Super Bowl)

When the Eagles are in the SB loser fans from 30 other NFL teams. "bleep those bleeping bleeps from Philly. I am rooting for the other team because I hate them all"

Why do you hate them?  "Um, I think the people on the TV told me I should because there was something about snowballs in 1968..."

I don't know if Barber is deserving or not. Maybe he was. But in my mind Eric Allen certainly wasn't a HOF player. He was good. Maybe very good at times. But never great.

I don't know he has pretty good numbers, tied for franchise lead in INTs. Has more than HOF ty law and deion sanders tied with hof Darell green who played more games.

Was part of an all time great D but since he doesn't have that elusive Superbowl he's over looked.

Not to mention his 94 season where he lost out to Reggie White of the Packers☹️ for defensive player of the year.

I think if guys like Darrell green and barber are in who accumulated numbers over a lot more games then so should Allen.

But oh well. Maybe Im looking at it through my green colored glasses, that late 8Os early 90s era of eagles football was my introduction to the eagles and football so I have a lot of fond memories that affect my opinions of that team and players and Eric Allen was one of my favorite.

It’s just really starting to hit me that we’re back in the Super Bowl. I spent this evening at an Eagles bar in Austin. 400 people showing up on Sunday. Sold out. They’re closing an entire street for the game and will have 8+ TVs & projectors running. Middle of Texas. Yes, Austin is a transplant city but I moved here 8 years ago before it was cool and this is an awesome sight to see so close to (my new) home.

I’m sure it’s been talked about in here but I’ve never seen a team cry as much as the 9ers after they got their teeth kicked in. What a bunch of pathetic losers. All of them. Fans too.

We've left a trail of salt behind us this year.  I thought Viking fans were crazy, but Niners and Giants fans have them beat by miles.  Hopefully, we live rent free in their heads for a very long time.  Ready to add Chiefs fans to the list.

Ronde had 15 forced fumbles 12 recovered , 28 sacks and 1250 tackles. He played like 30 more games then Allen but, still those stats for a corner are insane to go along with 47 interceptions.

I think Allen should be in but, Ronde deserves to be there too

Good thing you quoted a post there.  Otherwise, that reads different!  Sounds like @EaglePhan1986 when he’s had too much shaft hoggin.

Yeah that’s similar to when I’m coaching up you and godfather

MFer I don’t want to go to work today

Just decided I’m wearing my jersey. Hope I get written up. Will probably just get warning points like I do in the blog

After winning the most Regular Season individual Awards for a Team.  The Eagles are completely shut out of the NFL Honors for the players.  Howie won Executive so I guess that's our main award.    That's Ok, we'll take home the biggest prize of the Season on Sunday.  2 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Barber is deserving then Allen 100% should be in.  Eric Allen was a top CB during his time.  I'm stealing some of these stats from Reub but on this argument, I'm wtih him.  Keep in mind, Allen played 14 years to Barbers 16.

-Allen is one of 4 DB with 59 INT and 9 pick 6's (including post season) 54/8 regular season.  From an INT standpoint...Barber had 47 but he has the same amount of pick 6's.

-NFL didn't start recording passes defended until it looks like 1999.  He had 40 in his 3 years they recorded.  Averaged out to 186 over his career...Barber had 197

-Eric Allen made 6 Pro Bowls and 1st team AP once.  Barber made 5 Pro Bowls and 1st team AP 3 times.

-Eric Allen as Defensive Player of the Year in 1993.

-Their playing careers overlapped from 1998-2001.  In those 4 years EA had 5, 3, 6, 1 INTs.  Barber had 2, 2, 2, 10.  EA in his early to mid 30s was out performing Barber before his breakout year (as part of an all-time defense at that).

The only thing Barber has that Allen doesn't is a Super Bowl ring.  That and having 2 more All-Pro selections are the only things that Barber has over Allen.  Eric Allen was a part of the Raiders/Patriots tuck rule game too.  Who knows, if that call isn't made, maybe the Raiders go on to the SB and he gets a ring.  The NFL script for that year was crazy...launched Tom Brady's career.

It also doesn't help that Barber has been a media personality for years...keep that face fresh in mind. Eric Allen was with ESPN for a bit but noy as prevelent as Barber on Fox.

Eric Allen is a HOF player and it's a shame Barber got in before him.

I am just not a fan of this.  I am rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles to win a Super Bowl, not individual players.

I will question the fandom of someone rooting for an individual player to win a Super Bowl.

If that individual player is on the team I root for I see no problem with this. I'm on the fence whether I "like" Hurts or not but I want him to win it and be awesome on Sunday. On the other hand I "like" Jason Kelce and want them to win because I think he's a great guy annnnnnnd he plays on my team.

Barber was a heck of a player and they played the position totally different.  The way Barber was used on that TB defense was perfect for his skillset.  Oddly enough, they are the exact same size.  5-10 184.  That doesn't seem right to me.  I always think of Ronde being a shorter, rocked up guy whereas I picture Allen as a long armed skinny finese guy.

It's weird that Eric Allen and Ronde Barber might have 2 of the most memorable INT's in Eagles history.
