There needs to be open discussion on this without fear of retribution by mods for criticizing. Because this moderation  system is clearly not working properly.  

Having only 1 or 2 active mods causes a lot of issues.  

We have now lost a bunch of members recently. Some long time,  valued members ( maybe some liked 4for4, surely most liked JR).  One is banned because we are now pandering to the lowest common denominator. The other is gone by his own choice because this place has become so damaged. We have also seen Veejer pop in and decide to stay away.

VA has put a lot of blood sweat and tears in to this place.  I know he is busy with far more important personal issues. But I'm sure he doesnt want to see this place continue to crumble either. It's a special place to all of us.  That's why he made it.  Why he continues to pour so much time in to it despite what he has going on.  That's why we came here.   That's why we support it. 

We decided Reddit doesnt work for us.  What we are finding is,  here isn't working for us either.  

Needs to be fixed. Or more will be banned. More will quit. And this place will fall apart.

That's not true, the longtime members who've left like JR and Veej hated how often the level of discourse devolved into immature insults and overall lack of moderation. They just didn't have the patience for it like we do. No fault of their own, just different personalities. I'm sure there are many others like them. Lots of people also hated how often the blog conversations would veer off-topic into political bickering or other hot button issues. I never had much of a problem with that either, but there are dedicated sub forums for that sort of thing, so I did my best to comply.

Agreed. I'm the same way, I've never once put a single person on ignore nor have I ever reported anyone. 

But I can also understand that others might not be as patient to wade through the garbage to find something worth discussing. Some posters enjoyed the banter and didn't view it as garbage at all, but apparently they were in the minority according to the mods. 

Case in point, most of us have no issues with mom jokes, but the guy who has selflessly given so much of his time to stand up and manage these boards has said he finds them to be in poor taste, so wouldnt it be in all our best interests to respect that, even if it's not something that bothers us personally? Sure seems like a fairly small sacrifice to make if the EMB really means that much to anyone.

Fans and different media outlets seem very hyped for this SB.  Feel it's going to be an incredible game between the two #1 seeds.

Started wondering if maybe it breaks the record for most viewed SB.  Didn't realize the game between Seattle and New England is currently #1 as far as most viewed.  Broncos are also in the top 5 twice which is kinda surprising.  Figured it would be the first NE-NYG Superbowl that had the most views.

I flagged him for a post flaming another user and the system gave him 2 points. Didn’t realize that took him to 10. Since I know he was blowing off steam, I reduced it to 9 total points and 2 weeks.  
 

But let’s consider this his second and last chance.

Back to football, the Eagles have a Super Bowl tomorrow.  The Eagles struggle at times with strong interior OL.  That is KC.  Gannon has had two weeks to scheme on that and I am curious to see what he does.  Does he spy Mahommes?  That can be defeated by Kelce and the fact Gannon plays quarters when he spies.  I think the D scheme for the first gnats game would play best.  Zone but a lot of MOD.  Play Maddox in MEG on Kelce.  

AR and Spags have had two weeks to scheme too.  Studying the Eagles tendencies and what has worked in attacking the D and in defending the O.  I expect a lot of screens early and some shovel screens. AR gets a lot of credit but a fair bit of it is Mahommes improvising and some Kelce improvisation. Gannon and Wilson need to be preaching discipline.  I imagine we are going to see a lot of AJ on slants. Pressing the Eagles WRs isn’t a good idea. But it does seem the officials let more physicality go in the playoffs.  May be a factor.  But Stout coaches technique so well, I am not sure KC can get a read on the Eagles OL play. The Eagles have such depth at IDL that it may wear down the interior of the KC OL.  I expect Nick and Shane will have tinkers in place for what they see early. Game may come down to Spags v Gannon.  

@FranklinFldEBUpper Curious on your thoughts re:Covey. Also want a change back in punters. Not a huge Sisposs fan but Kern is done.  

If Covey can't go, I'd rather have Devonta Smith return every punt (of which there is likely to be few) than elevate Greg Ward.

Covey has given nothing outside of the Tennessee game, but at least he can fair catch the ball. Ward would let too many just roll past and cost FP.

I never want to see Smith return another punt. He is way too valuable to be used for such a high risk, low reward position. Ward is fine, plus if Covey can't go he would probably get elevated anyway.
