Steichen to Colts and Brian Johnson to OC is great news.

Success will always pick off the coordinators.  Now it happens in a sequence that allows us to maintain continuity and promote a highly coveted QB coach to OC.  They better hire a good QB coach.  If the success continues on offense and with Hurts, Johnson will have 1, 2 years max before he's leaving for a HC job (and we get a pair of 3's).

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Steichen is a huge loss IMO.

Would be but i think the eagles really like Brian Johnson and i think he has a chance to be a good offensive coordinator. I actually think if he has success next year there’s a chance someone poaches him to be a HC. To me the bigger concern is losing Gannon to the cardinals. At this point your top candidate to replace him went to Miami. I don’t think the eagles are nearly as set trying to replace Gannon. Tbh the cardinals ownership and organization being awful at their job could actually could hurt the eagles if they hire Gannon.

Yeah, I'm glad we have Johnson. He still has a ton to prove though. Hasn't ever called plays in the NFL. Steichen is a good ass coach.

I'd kind of like to see Rallis as DC if Gannon does leave, which seems likely.

If there is anytime to lose a DC I suppose it is when you are about to see a lot of starters on that side of the ball leave on defense.  Gives you some flexibility on who you hire to replace so they can work with Howie to build that defense on what they want to do defensively.

I know there’s only 32 HC jobs but i wouldn’t take that cardinals job. It’s an absolute disaster especially cause their ownership is dogshit. Murray is out til at least November. Hopkins is getting dealt. Hollywood brown can leave via FA. Watt retired. Imo it’s one of the worst jobs in the league and a chance you get fired after a year if you are really bad cause they could have 1st overall pick and attract a better candidate. I see this as a Steve wilks type of situation.

Spagnola's CV + 2 weeks to prepare does give me pause -particularly if Hurts doesn't have full range of throwing motion.

The throwing shoulder is basically all there is to it. If he’s healthy I don’t think we have any problem scoring points.

Rallis is rumored to be a DC target for someone.  I forget who though.

Watching NFL Network pregame and so far, they’re balls deep down their throats for the Chiefs

Reid and Mahomes, I get it, Mahomes is the best player in the league and Reid is an elder respected statesman of the league.

The mentalist on ESPN picked the Eagles and for the WR coach to have a big game coaching hahaha I'll take it

The crappy part with the cardinals and Gannon is if they hire Gannon you missed out on fangio cause he went to the dolphins. I suspect he likely would’ve been their top choice if the cardinals actually conducted interviews with Gannon and they knew it was highly likely he was leaving for a HC job.

That said if I’m Gannon I’m not taking that cardinals job. Normally i say for an DC to take a job there’s only 32 of them but the cardinals are a disaster with awful ownership. Kyler Murray is not going to be healthy until  mid to late November. So you’re gonna be bad next year. On top of it they’re about to trade DeAndre Hopkins away. Hollywood Brown might leave in free agency. JJ Watt just retired. The Cardinals don’t have a ton of talent on that roster. It might be the worst job in the NFL and the Cardinals ownership has shown they are willing to move and fire a head coach after one year. Sothere is a  chance that in a year from now they will fire you especially if they land into the first overall pick and can attract better candidates.

Fangio hadn't signed with Miami yet.  Maybe it's possible he backs out and goes to the Eagles if Gannon leaves.

Game day

Yeah, I think Denver. Hopefully, like Johnson/Steichen, he could stay if we do lose Gannon. I'm guessing Dennard Wilson is first in line though. Is there any chance Fangio backs out of Miami though? That would be interesting.

Denver for some reason

I am not as confident as most today. I don't know if we overcome Mahomes. I feel like he can just will them to the win. Especially after losing his last superbowl. I'm just not sure if he will be denied in two straight.

I wasn’t expecting to be so emotional today. But between missing my mom, the thought of it being the last game for Graham, Cox, and Kelce, and just overall excitement and nervousness, I’m a wreck.

Thank god for edibles. 😂

I think Fangio signed already. It would be weird that the terms leaked out but he didn’t sign anything.

Yeah, it seems a little farfetched. Maybe we would have had a better shot if Arizona had expressed interest in Gannon earlier.

Screw Steve Young and his hair plugs

Been calm and relaxed all lead up.  Slept with no issue last night.  But now the anxious antsy energy of the upcoming game has finally hit.  Going to make this wait feel all the longer.

Wonder what time the Super Bowl thread opens up.

I hope so. That would be awesome. I’m guessing he thought Gannon was staying so it’s why he took that job. Just speculating i think if the eagles and Gannon knew the cardinals were going to hire him the fangio likely waits before announcing anything with Miami.

My friend who covers the team felt it was Kafka getting the job as of last Friday but told me it’s the cardinals so they could always do something out of the ordinary as their ownership is bad and organization isn’t run very well. Their ownership and how they run things is the exact reason if I were Gannon, I would just wait a year. Still think he’ll have a shot at a HC job next year. I wouldn’t want to deal with that crap ownership because I think there’s a chance if you’re real bad in the first year (highly likely) they don’t give you a second year.

Kinda weird that Indy announced this the morning of the SB.

They've been waiting all this time to name a HC so whats 1 more day.  Regardless I'm sure Shane, Nick and the team and organization probably already knew this was coming.  Still strange timing.

I think that job looks worse to people close to Arizona than it does from an outside perspective, especially after a down year. People were saying the same things about us two years ago. Murray's got to make some changes, but it's not all doom and gloom.
