Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I believe Smith has tied Irving Fryar's franchise record for receptions now. ESPN had him at 79 before the game, and 9 receptions during this game. 1 catch breaks it.

Looks like AJ Brown will need 5 catches next week to also break it.

Now we know why Brown was upset.

hurts can handle a RPO offense  , it's just the game plan in chicago was plain stupid and got him injured. we have a 1000 yard back and what he had 6 carries in that game at the half, dumb game plan like today

That’s typical of this coaching staff. Today is another fine example of that. Sanders 12 attempts with a 5 YPC average but Minshew throws it 32 times and drops back multiple others but he was sacked.

I think it was a bit more than a little ding.  And I think he played through the pain when it happened, due to adrenaline.  I think it tightened up a lot afterwards.  And I think it was a little more than slightly sore, and with his style of play, he was more apt to re-injure that exact injury than most QBs would be.

Losing him for the playoffs ends the playoff run.  So, while it sucks right now with what is happening, every day he doesn't get hit is another day of healing for him and increases the chance that he won't reaggravate it in the playoffs.

Maybe more than a little dinged but as @HazletonEagle stated and other medical doctors it was a injury he could have played through without risk of further injury due to the injury itself.  It was a matter of pain management.  If the guy could go, he should go.  Should they wrap him in bubble wrap every game just because they dont "need" the win?  Don't like the message it sends to the team.  I think the team has responded accordingly

Non zero-chance GB and LV win today. So it's us or Dallas.

49ers are ahead of Dallas.  I think 49ers beat LV... and the Cards next week.

I think for if….uhh, let’s just be honest with ourselves and say when Lane dips out of a playoff game because he can’t go on….they need a RT plan that isn’t Driscoll.

Thats gonna lose them a playoff game.

Im really not that compelled by the Hurts angle.  Minshew should have played better and the coaches should have prepared the team better.

When Dak went down the entire Cowboys team stepped up.  When Lance and the  Jimmy G went down, the entire 49ers team stepped up.  We lose Hurts and played and coached like dog ish.

The Eagles are showing themselves to be more Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens than 49er or Cowboy.

It's hard to say because they were completely different circumstances. Those teams were trying to keep their teams in the playoff hunt while we were already clinched and 1 game for clinching the #1 seed. It almost seems like they sniffed their own crap and thought that they could just breeze on through these games playing vanilla and it bit them in the ass.

Exactly this.

Jordan just slow walked his ass back into Minshew.  That was pitiful

I’m fully expecting some ref shenanigans in the game next week. There is serious incentive to get Dallas to the one seed and I don’t necessarily trust the legitimacy of these conversations behind the scenes. The Dickerson hold was appalling today and very well may have cost them the game. One of the worst calls I’ve seen all year. And I expect if next week’s game is close, there is going to be some weird stuff going on.

Also, Kern is going to get absolutely stuffed on a blocked punt with his slow gather and release. I thought he punted like crap today.

*without.  There was not a substantially greater risk of injury due to the injury itself.

Pretty sure right now the 49ers are the 3 seed right now.

Im not even confident about the Giants game with Driscoll out there facing off against Thibodeaux. Like I said, it wasnt just a matter of physical where you can help him with Goedert blocking, or a RB chipping, and it wasnt just a matter of mental where he mixes up assignments. It was both. He was horrible in both aspects.

I think he played consistently poorly enough today to lose his job. I think they have to try Dillard. And if he still sucks on the right side and will literally cry about it, then maybe you actually have to consider flipping Mailata so you can play Dillard on the left.

They have a week to figure that out, and another week (maybe 2) till the first playoff game to get them comfortable. Hopefully Lane is back by then but who knows. Maybe theyll think they can easily win in the playoffs and plan to rest him till the superbowl. idiots.

Refs certainly helped some today 👎

I don't believe that was true.  Hit the same way as his was on that play, how is there not a greater risk of exacerbating the injury?  QBs get hit like that all the time, which is why QBs end up with broken clavicles.

Speaking of Qbs who did... any word on Foles?  I heard it was a 'serious' injury and he was carted off.

If they lose this week to the Giants their season is definitely over. They should just hand over their playoff spot to a more worthy team.

Or bounce back, flex and kick some Giant A$$.

Keep the No 1 seed and tell the Shield, "We're Here, come try us..."

They are.  They become the 2 seed with a Minny loss and 49ers win today.  And they have the tiebreaker over Dallas due to conference record (same as they have that tie breaker over Minny and the Eagles).

So this play is what AJ is throwing Minshew under the bus for? A play he ran not even a half assed route? Ok.

as the season comes to an end it's obvious that the talent on the team is why the team is 13-3 now. gannon has shown he can't game plan or make in game adjustments and any decent DC with this talent has the team on top of every defensive stats. minshew can't run the same offense as hurts but steichen doesn't game plan for that and not for hurts this team is looking like washington. they should have had a backup QB on the team that was a RPO type QB. ok rant over on to the gmen.

Says rib injury. But apparently the dude that sacked him was celebrating while trainers were on the field looking at him. Real classy 🙄

I’d be playing Lane Johnson against the Giants if it were up to me.  You know better than any of us…if this is something that needs to be surgically repaired, then not much is going to be better for Lane in 1 week than in 3.  Right?  He’s just gutting it out until he can’t go anymore.

I’d rather he burn a game now, then take a week off, then get back at it…than rest up until our away game wild card weekend.

Send the message to the team that it’s time to start winning again.

He knew he was running right into double coverage.  He said he tried to signal out of it but Minshew probably decided in the huddle where the ball was going. Him running any harder would have made no difference, the Saints had it sniffed out and Minshew handed them a f'ing TD.  AJ told the truth, sometimes the truth hurts.

That was a pretty bad route. Didn’t even try. Should have just grabbed the defender before he could catch it and take the OPI.

Makes sense.   Brown felt he was being doubled and didn't expect Minshew to throw it to him, so he half assed his route and is now too embarrassed to own it.  It's a 'For Who, For What?' situation all over again.  If he keeps running, he likely cuts off Lattimore, but at least disrupts the pass.   This was a Watkins level effort.  Not what we are paying for from him.
