I understand and respect that.  I simply choose a different path.  For me 13 celebrations far outweighs 3 disappointments.  That is what feels right for me.

we are not the same team that won 13 games right now. We are the team that lost the last 2 games. Thats who we currently are.

And right now, the next 2 games will be the most important of the year to Date. It's playoiff time.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Why on earth would it be empty?

Name a stadium somewhere on this planet-other than their home stadiums-- that would be filled to see the Chiefs and Bengals.

One of those fan bases is getting majorly screwed.   What are they going to do, play it on a high school field somewhere between both cities?

This is just a dumb, dumb move by the NFL.

Edit: and I don't mean totally empty, just like college bowl game empty.  No feel, no atmosphere like a big time NFL gams should have.

Is the Super Bowl empty every year? Isn't it the same idea?

This "neutral site" game could serve as a precursor for the NFL making it permanent. Think of how much money and economic activity the NFL generates with the Superbowl and the Draft. I could see the NFL commissioning a study about how conference title games could go the way of cities bidding for hosting rights.

If the Bengals can't beat the Ravens with them playing Tyler Huntley at QB, I have no sympathy for them.  Both teams would have 11 wins and the Ravens would have two head-to-head victories over them on the season.  Under those circumstances it should be a coin flip.

It will sell out.  I agree it won't have the home field type atmosphere which is always the best but it will be fine.

This isnt the Super Bowl which is planned years in advance and is essentially a corporate event.

This will be scheduled comparably at the last minute, and the fan bases who will populate this stadium will come from mega cities like Cincy, Buffalo, or KC.  I dont see it.

Hurts LP again and is Q

I get they are trying to protect him but for gods sake is this more serious than we thought? Let him loose

How are the Bengals getting screwed? They were awarded a division title when they hadn't clinched it yet. And the league created provisions whereby they may not have to go to Kansas City for a championship game if they get there even though as it stands now, they're a game and a half behind the Chiefs.

It feels to me like the Bengals made out pretty well.

They had the most to gain... 1 seed overall by playing out the games.  They also had the most to lose, dropping to the 6 seed.

Lol, he’s not playing

They lost the chance to host an AFCCG, the thing teams like the Bengals literally fight all year to achieve.  You dont think they want a chance to earn that now that theyre playing well and just made a similar run last season?

You think their fans are happy about that?

Youre going to see an empty stadium AFCG in all likelihood.  Totally unacceptable to me.

If the Eagles made it to the NFCCG this year as the #1, how would you like to go to Detroit or something to play the Niners?

If the Bengals as the three seed beat the second seeded Bills, and the first seeded Chiefs lose to, say the Jaguars, then the Bengals would host the Jags in the AFC Championship Game.

I'm curious. Why would him not playing incite laughter on your part?

Meh... even with that perception, the Eagles were in position to win the game at the end...

Because it would complete an epic collapse from best team in the NFL to a first round exit

Yeah... I don't buy that part.

RTK, I have you on ignore already.  Quit creating clone accounts.

Yup.  I can't tell you the number of times I was regaled with the hilarious tale of the failure of the 1964 Phillies.  Always cracks me up.

Surprising move. They must really like Sills.

Janarius Robinson is next (IR)

I don’t see it happening. From a competitive advantage it takes away the incentive of getting the one seed, which in the grand scheme of things the league doesn’t care about. But what the league, and by default the owners, would care about is that it removes an extra home game where they are receiving stadium revenue. Goodell works for the owners and I don’t think most of the owners would be happy about that unless if there was some sort of revenue sharing for a neutral site game.

Ok Ill hold my breath for the Jags.

So imagine the Bengals, beat KC, beating Buffalo when this happened.... and they may have to go to KC in round 2 because the NFL said "ah screw it"

I am somewhat surprised they waived an olineman, since they now essentially only have eight with Lane unavailable. Maybe this is good news about his availability in the playoffs?

This is the mentality that I’ve found annoying the past three weeks.

"Dallas lost to Jacksonville so this game isn’t as important and Minshew can probably win it.”

"It’s the Saints at home. They’re terrible and they can win this game even without Hurts.”

”It’s the Giants backups. They should be able to roll over them.”

Lackadaisical mentality for the last month of the season and then people just expect them to flip the switch come playoff time. It doesn’t work that way.

Let me ask you this hypothetical. Suppose you agree to a free throw shooting contest with someone who is elite at it. Would you want to make it a challenge of 100 free throws each or just one shot each?

The reality is, if you’re an average guy, you’d have a zero percent chance with 100 shots each. If it’s just one, there’s maybe a five percent chance he’d miss and give you a chance to win.

It’s the way casinos make money. The longer you play, the greater advantage to the house.

If you’re the better football team, you would prefer a game with fifteen possessions each rather than eight.

Exactly.

The odds of us winning three straight road games to go to the Super Bowl is so low that this is a must win. We can’t afford to play it conservatively.
