I think you may be wrong about that. Some bowls maybe, but the majority of them are essentially an excuse for a mid-Winter party that brings lots of "other people’s money” to their community.

All the big ones for sure.  They have already suffered.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Youre making theoretical arguments that arent playing out in reality.

The timelines dont make sense, and huge amounts of resources are being wasted.  It wont go on forever.

All programs are losing players for a number of reasons, its not always this efficient ever-improving model like youre making it out to be

If all programs are losing players, how do they keep putting on games?

Since we got a bye week and time off before knowing our opponent, who does everyone see us taking at 10 or what we are gonna do with that pick. I think it is more likely they trade back a couple spots to acquire some middle round picks and still get a player that they like. But if we’re sitting at 10 based off what I’ve seen in mocks (way too early), I kind of think they’re go cornerback, because slay is going to be 32 and Bradberry’s likely gone. Also I could see one of the offensive tackles being selected.  you move him into right guard as i unfortunately think seumalo leaves. when lane Johnson retire to shift him back out to right tackle.

College Football Playoff’s epic semis pull best ratings in five years: Sports on TV

Ok downunder, we'll see year over year.  This was on the heels of the lowest rating in years, so Im not sure this is saying a ton.

How did the rest of the bowls do?

Youre still not understanding my point that this train is steaming down the tracks towards 5-10 programs being sustainable and everyone else playing for scraps

No it is not ever improving.  You and I agree on that. It only improves if the overall quality of the players improves.  It is evolving.  Some schools will become AAA while others become tha Big Show.  It will take some time to shake out.

Then don't watch, I don't care.  I watch college football, will continue to watch college football, and so will millions of others.

But are they?  I suspect if you contact the local Chamber of Commerce and community governments of the big bowl host communities they will tell you that the benefits far outweigh the costs and that the community’s net proceeds have never been better.

So when college football inevitably fails do we see high school kids make the jump straight to the NFL or do they have to play in the XFL for a few years?

There will be less and less of you, and you will watch less and less teams.

Tell me how the bowl games and conference champions did this year and youll see what Im talking about.  I bet its the same for regular season, too.

You are equating professional sports to 'amateur' sports.  Also, the 'Big Show' has their own minor league affiliates, and the players on those teams are under contract (be it a minor league contract, though some players have two-way deals).  Very very very few players move from the independent minor league teams up to the Big Leagues.

And then there's the 'academic' piece that matters with the NCAA.  They are 'under scholarship' to a school and are supposed to be taking a minimum class load, ideally, leading to a degree.

Eagles recent receiving leaders...

2022 - AJ Brown - 1,496 yards
2021 - DeVonta Smith - 916
2020 - Travis Fulgham - 539

The dude will forever be in the franchise's record book.

Assuming there will be a minor league system

That’s the corner i was thinking at 10. I know some have the Georgia corner Ringo. Have a feeling porter by the time we get to the draft might not be available at 10. I think it could be like the year with horn and surtain. Not against Paris johnson who i think can play guard for a year or two then replace lane when he retires. I think he’s gonna be a really good tackle in the nfl some day.

I made a post yesterday that there are at least 4 CBs who are going to be on the Board at that time plus the two OTs.  I don’t think either of the OTs are going to thrill Stoutland, so I expect Howie to trade down and eventually take a late 1st round CB or a D-lineman like Foskey or the Baylor DT.  They may have their eye yes on Carter, the Army DE in the 2nd though.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any value in the comparison to minor league baseball at all.
