I mean keeping the players, sorry worded badly.

Would you lose all those  free agency players in return for a SB win.

Let’s make this simple. The option that ensures a Super Bowl win is the correct one.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

If SF plays that boring, ultra safe, dink and dunk game that they played for most of that last game, they will get blown out.  That won't work when they will need to score to keep up.  Then move Purdy to the pocket for longer developing plays and he gets sacked repeatedly.   Not a good situation for them.

Would people take a SB win and see a lot of our talent leave? CGJ, bradberry, white, epps etc etc leaving us with a much poorer team next year and then see us fail to make the play offs?

Or lose the next game and keep the best for another playoff run next year?

You can't be serious....give me the Super Bowl win....and everyone and their mother can leave.

Yeah, but if you keep all those players you could maybe win the Super Bowl. Ever think about that?!?!?!?!

Everyone will say theyd choose the super bowl win but then scream for Howie to be fired next year when some players leave.

I fell asleep in the 4th quarter. Upset I missed Dallas choking

Good Morning….Brock Purdy is not coming to the Linc and beating this team to go to the Super Bowl

Have a great day!

We’ve had worse QBs come into the Linc and beat this team to go to the Super Bowl.

Howie kept everyone after the first Super Bowl and that’s part of what destroyed them.  Well, that along with the 12 personnel thing and tons of bad drafts.  But it was part of it.

If they win the SB, I say that they should avoid sentimental extensions, draft better, and stay young.  It might be nearly impossible to repeat, but it’ll set them up for a long, sustainable run of contention.

McDermott and his defense choked in the playoffs last year…and last week…and this week.  This year, Josh Allen joined the party.

Their defense didn’t really choke IMO, it’s just not very good. They might want to start attempting to run the ball with an actual RB consistently too.

And cross your fingers that your QB doesn’t collapse into himself like a dying star.

even if it means a couple of seasons of 4-13?

Yes, but we also had Mcnabb tossing innumerable INTs to Ricky Manning Jr and Ronde Barber against 0 TDs passes in those games.

Not this team.

I guess if that is what it takes... but a couple of 4-13 seasons means we had problems beyond losing some FAs: like the Hurts regressed/got injured, draft flops, coaching brain drain... like 2020 x 2.

I have to say, congrats to the Niners for the win but the Cowboys looked amazing for 2.5 quarters along the lines. They looked like they were in a completely different class from their 49er counterpart. They just seemed to wear down in the fourth quarter and couldn’t get off the field:

Dak pissed away an amazing opportunity on an amazing team.

Hopefully Jalen doesn’t do the same.

A 50 year wait for a SB title and one such lousy season in the aftermath.

I could tolerate 2 seasons like that after a 5 year wait.

If the NFL moves to neutral site championship games, that’s one more step towards making the regular season worthless.

I’d rather have a healthy team on the road in the playoffs than an unhealthy one at home.  And then create a situation where no team plays more than 2 games in a hostile stadium?  Once your team is in the 7-4 range, you might as well pull the plug on the regular season.  You aren’t getting a bye and you are going to the playoffs.  And the penultimate game will have no HFA.  Just bubble wrap everyone.

At some point, the media spaffing their load over the Cowboys each year becomes a clickbait parody.  The Bengals (!) have been to the Super Bowl more recently than them. Reading Twitter this morning was epic; fans fighting at AT&T and other fans rinsing them.

Some comments from over here:

As a Green Bay fan, this was vintage McCarthy and then some. Absolutely awful situationally, getting conservative for no reason and overthinking himself. At least those GB teams knew the rulebook and weren't heavily penalised, Dallas have been one of the most penalised teams in the NFL, and that's twice now they've been eliminated because they didn't know the rulebook

---

Prescott needs to go,with a top top QB Dallas would have wiped the floor with the NFC. Gone are the days when he threw no interceptions, just far too many this season . Usually at critical moments.

Jerrah has backed himself into a corner with that contract... Wonderful.

As for the Niners; gonna be a tough game. Not impossible, but tough.  Let's get it.

Well, I do think with a top qb, Dallas skates through SF last night.

Im actually excited to see what they dial up for purdy. Shanahan has been putting Brock in really good positions. This game could be a real chess match, very excited.
