Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I think bosa stays on the defensive left/offensive right, so I don’t think Mailata will face him.

I thought he moved around more than that but guess I was wrong.  In that case, Lane has his work cut out for him at less than 100%.

Bold prediction i think cincy wins that game in KC. And i think it’s by more than 7 and KC doesn’t score more than 21 points.

I see that too. Especially with Mahomes' taped up ankle and mobility called into question.

Would love a Philly - Cincy SB myself...

It will be the best defense hes faced, and the Eagles will be the best team the Niners have played

I hope that too, I really like mailata but he gets kinda lazy and gets beat

Im an apprentice, suck it haters, soon I will be the master

Chiefs destroyed that niners defense before this long win streak. Not sure who was healthy though for the niners at that time on defense. Obviously mahomes is mahomes. But I’d see what really worked in that game and the raiders game. However the raiders game it felt like Adams just absolutely went to another level and Waller/Moreau combined for 6 catches for 127

Yeah.  I was just thinking that the Secondary, in particular, is going to prove more of a challenge to Purdy than others have.  Esp with CGJ being able to play in Nickel; lots of optionality over for him to face

He's a good slot guy. You haven't been proved wrong yet? 🤔

Correct.

@hputenis likes a good apprentice

The Niners basically try to bully you until you quit.  They play a little dirty too, the way they tackle and try to hurt people.  That ish is intentional.

The Cowboys actually did a good job holding up to the physical challenge, that surprised me.  But they ran out of gas and losing Pollard killed any chance they had.

The Eagles are something entirely different.  Micah Parsons said before the game that the Niners hadnt seen anything like them and he was right.  Well now comes Chapter 2, not only can the Eagles chase after your QB, they can smash you in the mouth too on both sides of the ball.

I think the Eagles straight up bully the bully, I think they hammer the Niners and their D ends up folding.  Mark it down now.   I don't really give a F about Purdy because he wont be able to keep up.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of who the best TE/WR combo the Eagles faced this year was.  Ceedee Lamb/Dalton Schultz?   Realistically, there is no way Brock Purdy should beat the Eagles.  Question is, what do the Eagles do to cover Deebo and Kittle?  Is that on CGJ and the LB?  Avonte Maddox being healthy would go a long way.  I don't trust TJ Edwards in space with any of the 49ers weapons.

I think the Eagles need to practice ball control and not let the 49ers offense on the field.  If Mailata can't handle Bosa, don't be afraid to use a TE.  Reduce the impact Hufanga can make.  DO NOT try to run WR screens against this team.  This defense is far too aggressive and their DB tackle very well for that play to work.  I've yet to see the Eagles run any sort of play that would take advantage of a team expecting the WR screen and exploiting the aggressiveness.  Maybe it's time for that.

Overall, I think this is a fairly even matchup but the Eagles are the better team.

Looked like the Cowboys loaded the box, and played C2 which is good against the run/short passing.  The issue would be 1) can CBs handled the quick bubbles 2) can TJ handle the longer developing plays in the middle of the field (LVE had a really good game as he often dealt with McCafferty run and pass).

Hope you’re right but this seems entirely too optimistic for me. I’d assume Niner fans are saying something similar about their defense against Jalen.

Jalen Hurts is on a totally different level than Brock Purdy, not even a conversation at this point.

He was garbage yesterday, straight trash.

What happened to the site? I don't think I like the changes.

What are those icons that cover up part of the avatars?

yep, most important game of the Eagles defensive MVP's career.

I think in this game it is going to be super important for the eagles to come out fast and put up points in the first half. The Niners are a much better team in the second half over this 11 game win streak. They’ve outscored their opponents 195-66 over this stretch in the second half of games. they tend to keep you in games and even give up points in the first half of games. in their last 5 games they’ve only outscored their opponents 67-60 in the first half. And they played seattle, raiders, Washington, cards and Dallas. To me dallas lost that game last night when Dak threw that pick to Warner. If you get a touchdown or a field goal it can completely change that game going into halftime. Instead of being up 3 they were down 3 and the niners had momentum knowing they’ve been a better second half team.

Don’t recall if this was ever posted

49ers are more susceptible to the pass, but the Birds have the best OL and will need to establish the run. Some say the Birds have had an easy schedule all year, but the 9ers have had an even easier schedule.

Lane is the key to this game. If he can stay in the game, I have no doubt they can win. Anytime the Birds go against an elite pass rush, they completely shut it down with Lane.

Ladies and gentleman our playoff blog leader in posts!  Pulling away from LGM by the minute.

I think something that was very underrated vs giants was getting the ball to start game and scoring a TD. I hope they elect to receive or niners defer to start the game.

Purdy actually has to play in a hostile environment for the first time and for two weeks he has throw multiple balls that should have been INTs.

49ers secondary is solid but not as good as some people make them out to be. Metcalf and Lockett did well against them. Smith and Brown should be able to do the same
