There is a system for that sort of thing, I'm still playing with it to learn more about it, but there's something in place that can be used for that

I still can’t believe Dave didn’t let us cash in on our EMB points at the team shop.

And I guarantee that you were freezing your ass off. It was brutal that day. Fortunately it looks like it might get to fifty on Sunday, which I would love.

The NFC championship against Atlanta was the coldest I remember of the playoff games I’ve been too. Icy week, sunny during the day but in the teens the whole time and whipping wind.

At the Vet you had pretty good cover from the wind at least in the 700 level, but the Linc has some bad spots where you are in the swirl the whole game.

Kansas City even thought Mahomes is the best. Burrow is playing with a lot of confidence and believes he’s as good as anyone.
Kansas City will struggle stopping us too.

Tbh burrow and that offense has great skill players but the fact they are down 3 of 5 olineman and still playing as well as they are is super impressive.

It has been interesting to listen to SF sports radio last week and today.  The Bay Area reporter for The Athletic was on this morning and his assessment was that the Eagles D-line is "bad against the run.”

He used the Washington loss as his evidence.  If I remember correctly Davis was on IR for that game and Joseph and Suh had not been signed yet.  Am I remembering right?

Looking at the stats for the Giants game on Saturday, they got 118 yards rushing on 20 carries, which is a respectable 5.9 YPC. However, 98 of those yards came in the second half, only 20 came in the first half on 7 carries … a not so respectable 3.9 YPC.

I don’t believe the Birds are as bad against the run as that argument suggests.

Thoughts?

They didn't look good against the Texans or Washington but have looked much better since then.  Gannon plays more of the 5 down front but they have also gotten more out of the front 7 in a 4 down front.  Cox has played much better with the addition of Suh and Joseph.

Well, you go to the team shop now and just tell them that I sent you, they'll take care of you!

But just don't get mad at me when they charge you double

Switching things up

1. Who do you want to win the AFC?

2. Who is the better matchup assuming Eagles win?

3. Who do you think we'll see, assuming Eagles win?

For me I think Bengals is the answer for all 3, although #2 is close if Mahomes has a bad ankle.

1.  Bengals

2.  Chiefs if Mahomes is less than 100%

3.  Bengals if Mahomes is less than 100%

Cool stats, brah. Try watching games.

I have to suggest you do the same if you are trying to say that Hurts last year was like Tim Tebow in the NFL.  Tim Tebow couldn't do anything passing the ball.  He had this god awful super long ugly throwing motion that made him highly inaccurate.  That whole Broncos season was just them keeping it close in this super ugly games and then Tebow would pull a rabbit out of his ass at the end of 4th quarters to get these crazy wins.

You insinuated that his stat line somehow made it so he didn’t deserve any praise. He didn’t have more yards, because he was so good the first half, that we didn’t have to throw any more. But you’re lowkey trying to pretend it’s a bad stat line. You’re grasping at anything to downplay Jalen and it’s making you look really silly at this point. But have at it. I’m done responding to the love birds in here

Its not downplaying Jalen by any means, its just stating how the game played out. Our Oline and running game were simply too much for the Giants and they couldnt get us off the field, and thats the story from the offense's prospective. Jalen played well. He did what he needed to, but he didnt need to do much. It was expected for him to play well vs a Giants team that had far less talent and bigger holes than the Eagles. I said this last week and I'll say it again, the game vs the 49ers is his money game. I say that because hes really going to have to show up and play on a different level than he did vs the Giants because the 49ers defense is going to force him to. I feel that all the offseason and regular season debate on Hurts has lead to this moment. The 49ers are going to make it very tough to run on and Jalen is going to have to make big throw after big throw under pressure. I think this is the game where we find out just how talented Jalen really is, and I for one am rooting hard for him this week to put that final nail in the debate coffin. His longevity is a different matter and that discussion will be at a different time and place, but if Hurts goes out there on Sunday and he beats this 49ers team with his arm (because I feel the 49ers are going to force him to do that) then Jalen will be the real deal in my book.

So Eagles vs Bengals in the super bowl?

I don't think it matters.  Burrow was getting the crap kicked out of him every drop back last postseason and still took the Bengals to the Super Bowl in the face of that.  This year started out the same way but then Burrow started to get that ball out super quick like Brady does and as a result offset the defense's ability to get to him in time.  I think he would feast on the Gannon style of defense.

Whatever dude. Hurts was awful last year. He’s a top 5 QB now. Both things can be true. And are true. Did you watch the playoff game last year. Jalen looked lost and couldn’t hit anyone. That was last year. I’ve been defending Hurts all day. Go dm Mike or something and leave me alone 😂

Lane and the boys, Miles and Kenny G should be getting all the run today.  They took away the Giants will.

Carson Wentz was not even mentioned when we went into Dallas and put the 37-9 beating on them when the fans were singing the Eagles fight song on the concourse after the game.

The offensive line and RB's got the respect they should have for crushing Dallas will in that game.

Nope - I don't know how the internet works.  Sorry

Looks like I am now a Collaborator.  Some folks around here frown upon that, but now it is an official board title.

The Bengals have three very inexperienced players on the O line. I feel we can cause Burrow a lot of problems if we play them.

Hurts wasn't awful last year, certainly not in the context of a very young 2nd year 2nd round draft pick QB who was playing his first full season as a starter after only 4 starts as a rookie.  On a team that went 4-11-1 the previous year.  He was a huge factor in them making the playoffs, becoming the youngest QB in franchise history to do so.  The cutdown in turnovers both on his predecessor at that position the year before and his own turnovers as a rookie the year before was essential to the team's success last year.  He improved his completion percentage by 9.3% to 61.3%, lowered both his interception rate and fumble rate and then of course had the impact running the ball that he did.

To say Jalen Hurts was awful last year and couldn't hit anyone is such absurd hyperbole.  For a young developing QB starting his first full season he had a very impressive year and that's why I was so confident he would take the next leap he took forward that he clearly did this year.

I don't. If we get to him and he tries to make throw while being harassed I think we snag some INTs.

I agree on the improvement of Cox.  Williams has improved too.  It would be great to keep the gang together next season.

So... Eagles are in the NFC CG.    That's something worth discussing.

Lane Johnson vs. Nick Bosa.   A healthy LJ and I give him the clear advantage.   With him banged up, I wonder how much help he'll require.  Armstead vs. Mailata... I think Mailata can handle Armstead pretty well.   My big concern is if it goes the other way.  Mailata struggles with speed rushes and Bosa can bring that.

But, ultimately, I see this game as a big boy matchup.  We line up and choose to dominate them on the ground.  Beat them up, rather than the other way around.  49ers have been bullying teams all year, time for them to get a taste of their own medicine.
