Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

OMG, if you think that was anything more than a joke, then the jokes clearly on you.

It may have been a joke, but it was four months of that ish being shoved down our throats. So it wasn't particularly funny.

You only discuss topics that you disagree with? Odd.

???

let’s breakdown your topics.

Eagles going to NFCCG. Yep, they sure are. What’s to discuss?

Brown and Smith are an awesome duo. Yep, they sure are. What’s to discuss?

Reddick and Sweat had great years. Yep, they sure did.

Wow, what interesting discussion!

He was never going to be more than Ian Book, a 3rd stringer.  The fact that anyone took it seriously and argued about it is comedy gold.

I never paid attention to it.  And I actually liked Strong coming out of college, especially since it didn’t cost us anything.  But he wasn’t on Jalen Hurts’ level - and that goes back to Hurts’ rookie season.

It was funny as it evolved organically.  Folks like @HazletonEagle and @Shalodeep were smart enough to see what was happening and jump in without being clued in to the gag at all.

The fact that it was taken seriously is what I found most humorous. It was like the world's longest, worst, "hot take" and so many people bit.

I 100% don’t agree. If Sirianni gets 5 1st place votes, he owes 3 of them to Howie Roseman. He was gifted the best roster in football and did what would have been expected of him.

Pederson obliterated expectations

So you think because of the roster, he shouldn't even be in the running? Even if he went 17-0?

Yes, the Eagles are going to the NFCCG.

Brown and Smith had the best year of any Eagles WR duo.

Reddick and Sweat had career years.

He didn’t go 17-0. If he did, he would win the award

The same logic being applied here could be applied to 17-0 though. That other candidates are more deserving because the teams had less perceived talent. That would still apply here. But just using that logic for a second, the team is talented, we're just setting arbitrary benchmarks at this point. That having the NFL's best record isn't good enough, you need to win every game to win the award.

Surely you can see how I think that's silly.

He was in the running, but was not one of the top 3 vote getters.  I am sure once we see the votes he probably finished 5th or 6th.

He was given one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, and only 4 of the last 10 winners finished with the best record in the conference.

I will finish my analysis at lunch, but having an MVP candidate QB hurts your chances to be coach of the year. In the last 10 years only once has the same team had the coach of the year and MVP.

Sirianni's frat boy persona is the new McNabb sideline smirk.  Just a trigger for the wrath of Eagles fans.

It is working for now, but I just picture it running out and wearing thin.

Siriani is in the NFC Championship year 2 after everyone trashed his hiring, he can do what he wants.

I think Sirianni is the #1 reason Hurts was an MVP candidate. He coached him up and put him in the perfect system to succeed.
