Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I was not confident last week, I am this week.  Eagles by at least 2 TD's.

His injury happened almost 6 weeks ago. Didn't most doctors say he would only need 1-2 weeks of rest? Why is this still a thing?

It will never be 100% healed until he rests.  This will be an issue, probably minor, but will still be there until after the season.

Keys:

-Don't let Kittle beat you.  Of all players, he needs to be the focus.

- Maddox.  If he is able to play slot then CJGJ will be key.  Have CJGJ come down and play inside of the box.  Crossers, screens and run support.

- Corners need to have inside leverage and play up.  Man on the outside, bunch up the zone in the middle.  Purdy is not going to beat us on the outside deep.  Deebo, Kittle and CMC can certainly gash us on plays in the middle of the defense.

- Bully them.  Run right at Bosa.  Target Warner.  Don't run from him, because he'll chase it down.  Run at him.  Stick to pushing them around and switch up the tempo.  I would go quick early, speed up Bosa's clock on the zone read but as mentioned, you need call some conventional run plays and go right at him.

- DL HANDS UP!!!!!!!  Should be plenty of batted ball opportunities in this game.

Good assessment.  There are lots of important one to one battles in this game, but for me the most important one is Kelce vs. Warner at the second level.  If Kelce wins that battle with any consistency, the Eagles running game should do well.  It is a battle of the best NFL players at their respective positions, and should be fun to watch.  Needless to say there will be second level battles of the other Eagles O-linemen with both Warner and Dre Greenlaw that are crucially important as well, but the Kelce v. Warner one is the most important IMO.

He wins if the Eagles score more points than SF.

Conversely, he loses if SF scores more points than Philly

One of your more insightful posts...   Well done.

It will obviously be the fault of the other 52 guys and coaches, and no fault of his.

I think it's his game to lose. Meaning he should win this game, We SHOULD beat the Niners and their Rookie 7th rd Qtrback, given our Oline, WR,s TE, Dline and secondary

if he does not.... It's likely going to be because of him.

The longer this week goes the more confident I am. Hearing the Niners talk, what theyre saying and how they're saying it.  I really dont think they understand what theyre in for Sunday afternoon.  Major Vikings in 2017 vibes.

The Eagles are just flatout better and I think they win by double digits.

I can definitely see Shanahan pulling some Daboll ish and getting his team buried with an early defecit because of his hubris.

While driving around (as 75 year-olds are won’t to do) I’ve been listening to KNBR 680.  Their comments very clearly indicate to me that they DO understand what they are in for from the Eagles.  There is almost no underestimation of how good the Eagles are.  However, they do believe their team is even better, and matches up well.  The one area that I do think they misread the Eagles is in run defense.  They point at the average of 118 yards per game given up, and dwell on Washington’s 49 carries, and jump to conclusions that are inconsistent with the run defense we saw last Saturday.
