I love my weekends but....never wanted one to end sooner! LOL 31 hours til game time........

Woke up this morning with this on the brain. We good...

 

At LAX and sitting at the gate. I think half the flight is people going to the game. 
 

All that talk about ticket sales in California…it wasn’t to SF fans (they don’t have any). 

Two Niners’ fans just sat down and got heckled.

This is big.  Maddox makes this defense really solid from front to back. 

In the vacuum of a Saturday morning with no NFL Games today, I'm cruising the various talking heads shows.

No consensus on 9ers v Eagles, as expected. Half the heads have us, half them. Collusion?

Producers have already set the stage for how the matchup is to be approached. Ratings.

Would love to sit in on a Production Meeting sometime.

The game hinges on the DL. If they show up I don't think their offense has much of a chance. They looked pedestrian against Dallas and were lucky that Dak was bad and gave the game away.

I expect the Niners to come out blitz heavy early.... to try and create some momentum and kill the crowd. 

I expect Siri and Shane to be fully prepared for that, and to make them pay early.....

@eagle45 had my MRI last night. It was painful just laying there, but aside from that and the noise of the machine, I coulda fallen asleep pretty easily in there. It is a bit "coffin like” tho, I could see how people would freak out

Dude is some big ass Samoan pushing 300. My 130 pound butt boarded quietly and turned left to first. 

Random thoughts on the game…

* It’s been discussed ad nauseum, but the Niners will let receivers run past them downfield, and Hufanga will bite hard on playaction. Hurts has been one of if not the best deep ball passers in the NFL this year. We need to hit on those opportunities, and we need Mailata to hold up on those shot plays. I suspect Bosa will be lined up against him often. 

* The strength of the Niners’ pass defense is Warner and Green law in ver the middle. That’s not something you hear often about linebacker play. That might limit our slants to Brown or Goedert sitting in zone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the above mentioned shot plays is up the seam to Watkins. Warner had a fantastic pass break up against Lamb, but Watkins is significantly faster. 

* The Niners have a good offensive be line, but outside of Williams they really don’t have a plus player. McGlinchey is fine, but Reddick can make his life miserable. This is gonna be a monster game for the DTs. We can pressure Purdy from all angles of the DL. The Cowboys could do it off the edge and only occasionally up the middle. They won’t be so fortunate vs. Philly. Our DTs will win, but we better maintain our rush integrity. Purdy isn’t Daniel Jones fast, but he’s mobile. 

* The Niners are gonna force us to tackle, and they’re going to challenge our ball security. We can’t be soft. No 65-yard Deebo screen passes to the house. Make Purdy beat you. Shanny loves those crossing routes over the middle against a flat-footed zone. Edwards, White and the safeties better bring it. In the past few weeks the Seahawks and Cowboys ripped passes at the line and jumped routes over the middle to have interception opportunities. They’re coming. Can we make him pay? I don’t expect Purdy to live on passing outside the hashmarks vs Slay and Bradberry, other than quick screens or passes to force them to tackle.

* I think we will have success running, but it’s going to be between the tackles. Armstead is a helluva player, but the Niners’ front plays with big splits. Attack Kinlaw. Wear Bosa out.

* I’m getting more and more confident as this game grows. It feels like we don’t have the scheme edge, but we have the talent edge, home field and a coach who won’t turtle in key spots.

* We’re going to the Super Bowl.

Time to make a prediction.  A very even game with two great teams.  Assuming no one has more than a +1 edge in turnovers, I expect this game to come down to Hurts and the edge he has in making plays over Purdy.
