Inching closer. It has been a great year. The best year up to this point.

The Buddy years will always occupy a special place in my heart but this team is just behind them together with 2017 which was just an all out fun ride the entire way including the obligatory adversity. The Vermeil and Reid teams just a tad behind.

With a dash of luck we can take one more step for now.

This year has been a great ride but this team was expected to be a contender from preseason. I don't recall ANY expectations in 2017. 2017 was as Rocky-esqe as I could imagine from any real world story line.

PJ Tucker sighting.

Joel Embiid is a generational talent/player.

Almost no one had this team in the NFCCG with the best record in football.

Bear steaks?  On sourdough buns?

Okay.  For all the Doc Rivers haters out there, what does he do wrong that causes you to dislike him as a coach?

I thought this was a helluva defensive adjustment by Rivers.

His issues have always been the playoffs where they blow big leads and series and doesn’t adjust his rotations to fit the opponent he’s playing. It’s been the same issue he’s had since his time with Boston along with his rotations during the playoffs. They were a 1 seed and up 20 in multiple games and lost to the hawks. Until he fixes that issue in the postseason that’s what people are gonna grill him on. Regular season doc since he’s gotten here has been more or less fine.

More this year year but not to go 14-3 and maybe win a SB

Rookie QB's are 0-4 All Time in Conference Championship Games.    Rookie Wall incoming?   Let's make it Happen Eagles Defense.

There's an agenda against him. It's entirely narrative driven, not substance driven. When people in this city get an agenda against someone, they never let it go. As we've seen with Jonathan Gannon. Dude has a top 2 defense, and people wait for the defense to not have a great game to trash him.

Doc Rivers isn't a great coach, but he's a solid NBA coach. People blame him for the playoffs every year, rather than his stars coming up small. People blamed him for the Miami loss more than Embiid's injury, which is ridiculous.

Doc Rivers could win the next 15 games, and when he finally loses one people will call to fire him. That's what agendas do, rob you of logic and reason.

How would you like him to change his Sixers rotation from what he has been using?

I hear what you are saying, but isn’t that a player execution and focus issue much more than a coaching issue?

Oops

I think it is time for @LeanMeanGM to repost the season record predictions list. What percentage of all those predictions had the Birds even making the NFCCG much less going further?

I was thinking about doing it before playoffs but there were some playoff specific predictions. I’ll look at it again after I get everyone’s predictions for tomorrow

yup. WR at 32 (fingers crossed) is a good idea IMO.

I don’t even think we need to go that extreme.

You can usually find good WRs between the mid 2nd and 4th rounds. The WR class has some pretty nice prospects in those mid rounds and decent variety between bigger players like Brown, pure twitch/speed, technicians like Smith, and well rounded athletic types. The position is basically a starter, so might as well have a good one. It also really helps if one of our top 2 guys gets an injury.

Rivers is more responsible for Ben Simmons being Ben Simmons than anyone not named Ben Simmons

Good Win 76ers.   I definitely think they have a chance to take the #1 Seed this year.
