So it’s been a long time. That’s the point. We shouldn’t assume some next guy is going to do what hasn’t been done since basically the early 2000s.

Kinda making my point. I have said plenty of times in my recent post that he is the guy and the team needs to protect him as such.  An ankle injury here, a shoulder injury there, and before you know it he is wearing silly clothes trying to stay relevant because everything on the field has regressed.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

Good god, you are supporting Hurts, and wanting him to be healthy, and you are still getting push back from fan boys ??????

The further away we get from the actual injury, the lesser the likelihood for any further injury. When he actually takes the field again it will be over a month from the injury. He may have been sore after the last game, but that's a pain tolerance issue as opposed to a new injury. He didn't look the same in the Giant game because the coaches would not have let him play unless he guaranteed them that he would not look to run unless it was to evade a direct hit ... this made him play hesitant which won't be the case the next time he takes the field. My bigger worry for that game is the status of Lane Johnson ... and if he does play, will he last for as long as we are alive? I heard the chance of aggravation for him is highly likely.

Seems to be the case. Guess I should embrace the role and go ....well he threw for only 22tds and 3700 yards with these weapons and really wouldn't of gotten the MVP nod the way everyone thinks, but definitely could of made it as a pro bowl alternate at RB?

But no...I'm saying hey, let's protect this kid because it's protecting our future and I'm still wrong. I loved cam when he came in the league. I learned my lesson attaching myself to guys who will destroy themselves for the glory. Lamar is bombing, Kyle is bombing, cam doesn't get any offers, Allen struggling the second half of the season, and Justin's team has the #1 overall pick this year.  I was a fan of all these guys because it's exciting to watch, but I know where it ends....when they meet the Mahomes and Burrow's of the world

If he's still sore next week I vote we sacrifice the Dallas team and fanbase to help heal our QB

Im curious what they will think if Jalen goes out there and has another game like he did vs TB last year. Will it be a "so what, he played great this year and we'll get em next year" kind of thing?

Of course. I ask a question about his future prospects considering he’s likely to get an extension next year, and it’s brushed off as "every player is hurt”. Not every player commands 40+ million of the salary cap, and if that player isn’t available or is limited at the most important time of the year, that’s a major concern for the team.

It becomes obvious very quickly that these "fans” are only happy to pound their chest about Hurts having a good year, and they refuse to acknowledge the team issues that may come. Because they aren’t really fans of the Eagles at all.

At least @brkmsn was willing to have an actual conversation about things, so props to him.

What’s wrong? I’m only pointing out the same crap everyday. I thought that’s what we do around here. You know….. like running your mouth about how bad Jalen hurts is for the entire off-season in every possible thread multiple times.

what’s wrong? Don’t like it. I’m only "pointing out the flaws”.

We saw against the Saints what kind of offense we would have without an elite qb running it, so the choice seems to be between paying Hurts $40 million+ a year and hoping he stays healthy to have a shot at winning the Super Bowl or not paying him and having no shot at all.

Elite QB running it or an elite running QB? Outside of his completion percentage, the rest of the numbers aren't elite.  The entire offense is based around that style and minshew is the opposite so not shocked he failed against a competent defense when the scheme doesn't fit.  I'd actually pay Hurts, but I'd have plenty of bail outs

@TorontoEagle @Shalodeep

They are talking about the Hurts injury on WIP right now, Ike Reese said

"If the Eagles lose and it is partly because of Hurts injury, the team would never come out and say that"

I guarantee if that happened, a bunch of posters in this thread would blame the injury.

Why don't you bish and moan about how often Burrow gets injured? Or Herbert?

Because they aren’t Eagles QBs?

Makes sense. I'm sure if they were Eagles she would say the same things. oh wait no she wouldn't because it wouldn't fit her narrative.

Probably didn't help that the gameplan was stupid as hell to go up against the strength of the opponent instead of their weakness

Herbert has started 49 consecutive games and counting.  Only game he did not play was week 1 of his rookie year when they started Tyrod Taylor.

Burrow has started 37 consecutive games and counting since he returned from his ACL injury. ( missed week 18 last year, Bengals played no starters )

What narrative is that ??

I know you're not that clueless Mikey. Also just as a general question to you. Do you think context matters in football or do you only care about statistics?

Yes, context matters.  And the context is those guys have started 37 and 49 consecutive games.

How many consecutive games have Hurts, Lamar, Murray, Fields and Lance started ??

Good to know. I'll remember that.

The only way Jalen is elite is if hes a major threat at running the ball. We saw against the Giants backups that he isnt elite if he doesnt run. He and the coaches need to change that about his game before giving him $40+ million a year because hes going to miss games every year if he continues to run so much.
