He's shut me up about that. Still worried about longevity though

And that’s fair. Questions about his usage and longevity are legitimate. Fair to want an out in the next 4-5 years.

Questions of whether we are going to going to offer him a big contract are not legitimate

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

I don't want an out. I want a QB that will be here for 10+ years. I'd like Hurts to be here winning us multiple SBs. I just worry about the beatings he takes

I wouldn't say strictly as a backup, maybe get someone who they can develop in the passing game more and doesn't put their body in harms way as much as Hurts does.  Little competition can't hurt.  Kinda like, in case of emergency break glass.  I think we're on the same page.

Anthony Richardson!

Actually in all honesty the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Im not sure when in the draft they should draft, but yeah Jalen needs a legit backup QB. Someone that can run the same offense too.

You are both either trolling or idiots. You pick 😂

brad johnsons>hurts too

That's something the offensive coaches need to be more mindful of moving forward.  Hopefully they learned their lesson with this injury that wasn't too serious.  Take it easy on the designed runs and coach him to slide more.

lol you question his usage and longevity, but get your panties in a twist when someone says we need a good backup QB.....because of his usage and longevity.....

You don’t think we need a good backup for when Hurts gets hurt again?   It worked last time.  All of the sudden you’re defensive of the idea?

Okay, I’ll play.

Yes the Eagles need a good backup QB.

No you don’t draft a backup QB in the first or second. That’s why Wentz got his panties in a twist.

Hurts is 10x more mature than Wentz

Unless Hurts is afraid of competition.  I mean he did leave Bama because he got benched.

Tank for Tua!!!! Good times lol

Meh.  You gotta have a guy to develop in case Hurts has already hit his ceiling and/or can’t stay healthy.

😂 - I’ll give you a quote.

”I was badly wrong about Hurts, but rather than own it, I’m going to gaslight”

Not going to bring anything else into the discussion unless you want to.

I’ve already posted in here numerous times how he’s better than I thought and he has had a great year.  No one owes you anything, get over yourself.  Not sure why you get offended by another man’s opinions of a football player that doesn’t know you exist.  You take it personal.  Life is good, they’re in the Super Bowl.  Next time you respond to someone who you disagree with, realize you’re the one who said "not going to bring anything else to the discussion…”.  You should have led with that, it’s pretty obvious.

Dude - get over yourself. If I wanted to mock you for your numerous ridiculous takes on Hurts in the offseason I would, but I’m just happy we are in the Super Bowl.

You give qualified compliments about Hurts and then seek to undermine him as much as you can,

You should google gaslighting and then get 100% behind our franchise QB who will hopefully lead us to our second Superbowl and more after.

If we had a normal set of draft picks, it would make sense to draft a QB2 prospect on day 3. More important than the backup QB position right now is finding replacements for all the starters we could potentially lose in free agency. There's no way, under the circumstances we use a day 1 or 2 pick on a QB. We currently only have two 7th rd picks on day 3.

While I kind of expect us to trade out of our late 1st round pick to acquire more picks, I don't yet know if our return will be more this year or next year.

They are trolling. If the Eagles manage to acquire more picks they may take a developmental QB in rounds 4-7. They are not taking a QB early.

Gonna have to do something.  You comfortable with Book as the backup ??

You’re so bent.  You started the exchange with an insult and then talk about me getting over myself?   Why do you take it so personal?  You don’t think I’m 100% the QB of my team in the SB?   😂.  Undermine him?  You know this is a message board for opinions which aren’t going to have any effect on his production and certainly won’t "undermine” him.

I’m going to take myself out of the equation and bring in some intelligent Hurts sceptics. @Swoop @Bwestbrook36 @Mike030270. Do you think it’s sensible to draft a QB in the first or second next year?

I would sign a backup free agent and potentially take a late round flier on a developmental QB.

What would you do Mike?

There is an ignore feature for people who don’t like to read something that makes them emotional.   Just some advice.

You should google "emotion” along with "gaslighting”

I haven't seen Book play yet. The Eagles liked him a heck of a lot more than Sinnett and Strong and actually kept him on the 53 all year. Right now, Minshew is the backup and I'm comfortable with him. Book is likely more suited to running the read option plays and might develop into a better backup in our system. Going into next season, we'll see more from Book and have a better idea. Only the coaches really know how Book is doing right now.

No, I don't think it would be sensible.  However, if this is how they want to continue to have Hurts play then they should look to invest into a back up with a similar skill set.  I don't think they need to do it next draft but, I do think if Hurts gets banged up again next season they will.

I really hate the idea of them possibly needing to look early in the draft again because a QB can't stay healthy..... This is the MO of this franchise though. They did it with McNabb/ Kolb, Vick /Foles and Wentz/Hurts so can't say that I would be surprised if they do

I remember when reactions like this happened when Hurts got drafted:

1:01:34 is where it starts. I was mad about pick at time. Now, I'm able to go back to this video and have a good laugh about it. My favorite line: "I don't want Tysom Hill 2.0!!!"

Not the first or second, no. We have a lot of players leaving and while obviously some will be retained, we're going to need those early picks.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they take a QB early(ish) within the next draft or two. They've never been shy about taking one early even as a backup. Its possible and I do think there are benefits to it and also think Hurts would deal with it well enough.

I'd guess they take a guy in the 4/5 round. Not early enough that they have the whole Wentz situation potentially play out again, but early enough so there's something to actually work with there.

Not sure there is a shortage of average qbs, so drafting one early seems like a bad idea. Just pay Minshew $2 million next year and call it a day.

I definitely think reasonably priced free agent is the way to go. If they acquire more picks in a trade down then a developmental QB in rounds 4-6 would be okay, but it’s unlikely a rookie would be an effective backup.

I'd imagine they have some sort of FA on the roster, too. I was talking with the assumption that if they were to take a guy, when would it be.

Yes, I agree. FA of sorts and a developmental kid in the mid rounds seems realistic.
