The Bears had Morrow playing out of position.  He did his best as they’re MLB, but it was bad management to put him in that position.  They went out and got a real MLB and Morrow became excess baggage for them.  Then when GMs looked at Bears game tapes, all they saw was a player trying to be a MLB, but lacking the tools to do so.  The lack of interest was totally understandable.

Didn’t Morrow get extensive time at both spots due to the Smith trade?  There should be plenty of film to look at with him at both spots.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Drafting Embiid was pretty much telegraphed to them.

Wrong.  There were many saying don't draft him at all, that he would never be able to be healthy enough to play.  That it was just going to be another Greg Oden situation.  That one way or another a center with a broken foot was not going to be having a long career.

Demeco Ryans had a good year but idk if that was Howie who made the trade. Probable Sims.

Either way the Bears let Morrow walk for so cheap which concerns me. Idk who might be out there. If I could upgrade only one between LB & S it would be LB IMO. Dean is still an unknown at this level and we have some depth at S with some intriguing players.

Pretty sure it was. I distinctly remember Howie saying he made a tag with his name on it, and in the draft when the selection came up that they traded away for him, they put his name tag in the spot. As if  to say that is who they got with that pick. I do wish they did something better at LB but I am not expecting it. Morrow isn't a guaranteed contract but my guess is he's the man to replace Kyzir White and Dean will be given a spot as well. Unless one looks absolutely abysmal in camp, I don't see much happening here besides fringe type depth players, the usual guys we sign at LB. Not that's what I want.

Surprisingly, they're a few LB's still in FA that I actually like. Deion Jones, Kwon Alexander and Rashaan Evans. I don't want Jack and only lukewarm on Queen. Jones is the best player here but his shoulder is an unknown as well as his salary demand. But if his shoulder is 100% he would be a priority for me. Then Kwon then Evans. Queen just has been a disappointment, not sure how much better he is than Morrow and I'm not giving up picks of significance nor do I want to guarantee the final year of his contract if he shows nothing in camp. Just get one of the vets, it seems to be much easier and we have no real veteran leadership or presence in that room.

I would go back to the Titans and see if they want to trade S Byard. He seems to fit like a glove for us right now. Can play the FS spot at a high level which is a question mark and he has another year or more of quality play left in him. Perfect guy for Brown to learn from as he's a great player and locker room guy. You have enough box type safeties so you are really set with Byard and Edmunds as the starters with Brown learning getting ready to take over FS in a year or so, and Blanky & Evans as the back ups.

I'd like to see a move at LB too but I'll disagree they need leadership in the LB room.  Nakobe Dean and Nolan Smith are next level leaders.  I think the Eagles have enough older veteran leadership (BG, Lane, Kelce, Slay, Cox) along with Hurts.  I want to see how the young leaders step in to roles.  They are here to not only continue within the culture the Eagles have created but also to continue to build and add to it.

Maybe not leadership exactly, but a established veteran field presence might be more of what I want. Dean has barely sniffed an NFL field and Morrow isn't anything special. I think it would help this room to have someone such as a Kwon Alexander. He's been pretty successful in the league on multiple teams for awhile now. I am excited to see what Dean can do both on the field and in the locker room despite my concerns over his size/stature both.

There are team websites across the NFL with more behind the scenes access to their schedule release videos than the Eagles have of rookie mini camp.

We’re not doing that now, are we? Please tell me we’re not.

Jalen Hurts earned his Masters degree this weekend from Oklahoma.

Helluva year for the young man

Hurts went to University to actually learn something? What a revolutionary idea! More NFL players should consider that. If an NFL career doesn't make them multimillionairs - it doesn't for the bulk of the draftees - they're qualified to do more than ask "Want fries with that?"
