That's not even in the same ballpark as the Jalen Carter situation. That was about which player at the same position they preferred in the 2nd round that they had a similar grade on. Drafting Carter with a top 10 pick or not based on the off field concerns is not something you just decide on draft day.

Have you seen Draft Day?

I hope you are joking. Never watched that garbage after someone told me the main team in the movie traded three 2nd round picks for a top 10 pick.

Just guessing but probably scheme fit since he's a tweener DT/DE.

That was my thought but when you hear so many glowing reports it just makes you think what's the catch?  If a prospect checks off so many boxes, you'd think teams want that kind of guy on their roster.

Reminds me of Sebastian Maniscalco talking about buying jeans at TJ Maxx (1:30)   Did the Eagles find a treasure?

I would agree, but when you have multiple decision makers stating their case it could have taken quite awhile to get a consensus, not to mention making sure they had every piece of information available.

But also, I think if you take his quote at face value, all he’s saying is they went back and forth and Carter called the Eagles Thursday morning. That doesn’t mean his call sealed the deal.

It’s like a documentary filmed in real time.

Obviously the chances aren't good since he went in the 7th round, but he sounds like a similar level prospect and player to Milton Williams when they drafted him in the 3rd round.

And Texas is not exactly a college football graveyard.  It’s not OSU, Alabama, or Georgia…but it’s not NDSU either

Rounds 5-6
Overview
Naturally powerful defensive lineman caught somewhere between end and tackle. Ojomo is best-suited as a base end but doesn’t really have the get-off quickness to exploit interior blockers as an inside rusher on passing downs. He’s tight in his lower body, and his movements lack fluidity, but he can fight his way through blocks with upper-body power and a will to make it happen. Ojomo plays hard throughout the rep and will find production with his secondary effort, but he might cap out as a solid backup in either an odd or even front.

If they go 6 DTs I’m liking Mojo Oromo’s odds.

Unless he bombs in camp I would think he has an excellent chance to make the team. Cox, Davis, Carter, Williams is the clear top four assuming there are no injuries. That leaves one or two spots for Street, Marlon, and Ojomo. Ojomo sounds like a better prospect than Marlon and Street is decent but his fate might have been sealed when they drafted Carter.

I like them even with a headcount of 5 unless they’re deadset on a NT backup for Jordan with Marlon or Elliss.

I see very little difference between Ojomo as a prospect and Alabama Byron Young who went early in round 3.

Sure would be nice for the Eagles to update their roster and/or announce numbers for the new players. We already know Mariota is 8 and Suckposs switched to 10 so numbers must have been given out by now.

Yea, Ojomo is a near a lock as a 7th rounder can be at this point IMO.  21 years old, great character, position flexibility.  If he comes in and does what he can do, he will have a role on this team with an even bigger one next year.  He's DT5.

Ellis, Tuipulotu, Street are all battling for PS position.  Tuipuloto might even have some 7th round trade value.

I'm guessing tomorrow or Friday.  Rookies arrive for camp this weekend.

This was on IG. Not sure if it’s just a lazy photoshop or if Swift is going with 32 and Blankenship is switching numbers. It’s also not an accurate uniform but either way we have a new swag king on the roster.

At this point in his career that’s a big downgrade from Orlando.
