He was actually decent for a short stretch there, but he's so easy to make fun of.

Tbh McDougle was the guy i thought was going to be really good for the eagles. And it started off on the wrong foot from the beginning. Imo mamula didn’t live up to where he was drafted and who they passed up on. But he was more productive than McDougle

From an aesthetic standpoint, I thought Mamula always looked the part.

Lukas Van Ness

Mamula is remembered as worse than he was.  Eagles have had much much much bigger busts than him.  He might even have gotten average results for a 1st rd pick of the Eagles

Does Tanner punt?

Bernard Williams, Leonard Renfro, Jon Harris, Danny Watkins, Freddy Mitchell and Marcus Smith were all much bigger busts.

Nick S press conference on Eagles.com right now

He seems more confident. I really, really like how he is running things now.

Feel-good pc so far for me.

The Eagles won this draft’s popularity contest by landing Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter, arguably the best player in the draft, with the ninth pick. This was made possible because the team previously scored the Saints’ 2023 first-rounder, No. 10 overall. There are reasons the most talented players slip in drafts, and those reasons reflect risk, which Eagles GM Howie Roseman acknowledged in making this home-run swing.

"We had an honest discussion, if he fell to us in the second round, would we take him?” an exec from an AFC team said. "I don’t know. It seems like those guys don’t succeed, but you get a ton of points for drafting them.”

Carter’s involvement in a crash that killed two people led teams to investigate him more intensely, which led to Carter nearly slipping out of the top 10.

"When you just reached the Super Bowl like the Eagles did, and you have former Georgia people on your roster and on your staff, like the Eagles do, you can take that risk,” another exec said.

Emerging with four of the top 66 picks after reaching the Super Bowl is notable. The other teams that reached the championship round last season — Cincinnati, Kansas City and San Francisco — combined to possess four of the top 86 selections. That included one pick higher than the Eagles’ lowest first-round selection.

"Howie Roseman knows value, for sure, and he knows how to squeeze maximum juice out of those trades,” an exec said. "He has a lot of ownership support, too.”

They knew they were drafting a QB months ago, they signed Minshew on March 17, already had Sam Ehlinger on the roster .... and waited until May 5 to cut Foles.

Colts gonna Colts.

They’ll never sign him but would be awesome so i could get a nick foles Kelly green eagles jersey.

Timing is suspicious, could be that he requested it so he could sign a 1-day with Philly before retiring

McDougle isn’t even in Mamula’s league. This just shows how narratives can change history.

I just looked at the McDougle draft. It was pretty terrible. Ironically, the pick after McDougle was Troy Polamalu.

I wouldn't be surprised if he retires now (turned 34 in January and was thinking retirement after the Rams fiasco).  Maybe he'll sign a one-day contract.

I wish someone would leak these already.

He will then unretire at halfttime of the Super Bowl when Hurts goes down and lead the Eagles to their 2nd Super Bowl.

I'm not sure his style would be a good backup to Hurts but he'd be a good mentor to Hurts. Foles has experienced the highs and lows

Maybe. I still could see a team signing him as a backup. Chargers really could use a backup to herbert that’s actually decent. I’d have said chiefs if they didn’t sign gabbert

We got the best he had to offer and I'll always be grateful.  At 34, he just doesn't have anything left imo

The biggest issue with Mamula was that they traded up from 12 to 7 to take him... and the Bucs took Warren Sapp at #12.

Mitchell and Ness will make any jersey you want, and they have the right color.

Yeah except Mitchell and ness is usually worse quality. They used to be better and then over the years gotten worse and worse

I know some will be against it, but I'd bring Foles back. I don't think Hurts would mentally shrink with it.
