I just bought a Tanner McKee autograph /10

The auction ended and it had 0 bids. So I messaged the seller and asked if they were willing to part with it for the starting price of $5.00.

If he becomes something, I'll sell it to you @eagle45 since you seemed kind of excited about that pick.

Picture 1 of 2

Excited to see him in TC/preseason. To be fair to Book we never even saw him throw a pass that I can remember but I would have to imagine McKee takes his spot.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I came back from Mexico to see the despair on page 1187. Doc Rivers this, trade Embiid that.

What a bunch of weak-hearted weenies! Truly quitters. Ugh!

You should be ashamed.

The trade Embiid stuff is nonsense but you’re reading emotional posts when the Sixers were at the time blowing a huge lead (seemingly same old song and dance). Point in time context matters.

Hope you enjoyed Mexico. I just got back from there as well and have been sick as a dog.

Would love for Sixers to face Nuggets in finals if they make it. Battle of the perennial MVP candidates. Embiid edging out Jokic in a series would make him losing the past MVP battles palatable.

Embiid always bests Jokic head to head. That series would be ours, with ease. I would love that. I think we will get LA or Phoenix and have to deal with those stars that can actually hurt us.

We've been to Mexico 7 times, Bahamas 3x, Jamaica 2x, Turks & Caicos 1x, St. Lucia 1x, and Dom Rep 1x. The only place that we ever got sick at was the Dominican Republic and we'll never go back. Truly bad experience.

I’m not even an NBA fan but who cares about regular season awards. No one.

Also don’t see anyone saying "trade Embiid” when the question was "if he wants out” but let’s just ignore all context.

Right. The premise is, with another 2nd round exit, Harden walking, and needing to trade Harris to free up cap space- Embiid might actually ask to be traded at that point. That would be a team in rebuild mode.

I said fire Rivers, but I’ve been saying that almost since he’s been hired.  The way the playoffs are shaping up, if the Sixers can’t win a title by going through Miami and Suns/Lakers/Nuggets ….. Rivers should be fired.

I loved the DR. Favorite island so far.

Embiid is the MVP but he also needs to show he can play more than a half dozen playoff games in a row without getting injured.  People love to blame the Sixers coaches or the supporting cast but Embiid not playing in the playoffs has always been the biggest problem.  Hopefully he stays healthy for the duration. That's not a gimme

I went to St Lucia for our honeymoon and it was one of our best trips ever. Did half resort half island culture, just an awesome experience. Went to DR once and it was just ok although it was hard to not compare that trip to St Lucia.

I think it's a toss-up for who wins that third spot. Although I'm a lifelong Notre Dame fan, I didn't particularly like Ian Book, and I literally laughed when the Saints picked him in the fourth round. It was obvious that he was a significant reach. I laughed again when Book was forced to start a game his rookie year and looked inept. I laughed even more when he was waived by the Saints. Then I got my comeuppance as he was promptly claimed by the Eagles. So I laugh no more at him. The Eagles could easily have tried to put him on the practice squad, but it was obvious they were fearful of losing him on waivers. I think getting poached for Casey Toohill the way they were factored in a bit in the way that they constantly maneuvered the roster all season long without once exposing Book. Or Sermon for that matter. At the time of the claim, there was some discussion which alluded to the idea that they wanted to give him a training camp just to really see what they have in him. I'm sure they got some understanding as the season progressed, but I think there's more to be learned to a full camp, as well as some actual game time in the preseason.

Fast forward to this draft and the selection of McKee. I've had very little exposure to him as I don't spend much time watching college football other than Notre Dame games. So I guess I've only seen him the couple of times they played the Irish, and I didn't watch him with the idea of evaluating what he might look like as a pro. I just watched the games and rooted against him. I have no memory of how he played. But after reading up on him after the draft, it seemed that many people thought he might be a fifth rounder. And he went in the sixth. My guess is that they are willing to give him a fair shot at that third spot with Book and perhaps be some kind of insurance if Mariota were to get hurt. (They'd probably look to sign a veteran if that happened, perhaps someone like Flacco.)

Short Version: I think it's a toss-up between Book and McKee. I always thought Book was overrated and I haven't seen much of McKee. I hope they both play great.

I’m hoping they close this out on Thursday but doc’s record when being up in a series over the last decade is worrisome. They need to finish it off Thursday. Boston is gonna come with their best shot with their season on the line. It’s going to be an all out battle out there.

As a fan, any opinion on Joe Alt?

Think he could be the heir of Lane here?

The Pac12 is the one conference I'm not really well versed on just because of game times so I can't say I know much about McKee, however, a lot of draft pundits had a 1st round grade on him last year.  He seems to be your Phillip Rivers type of QB.  Ian Book has been, and always will be a back up QB at this level.  I actually like Book better as a backup because he can get out of the pocket and has that extra bit of escapeability to you love to see from a backup QB.  McKee is the guy we hope to swap for a high end pick in a few years.

Ideally, a team loses their starter and Howie can fleece a team for Mariota and the Eagles can go with Book and McKee as their QBs while always having Nick Foles on line 1 in case of emergency.

We had a great time in Mexico, visited Tulum, swam with dolphins, ate fantastic food. So sorry your trip did not turn out so well.

I'm as emotional as any fan but some of that wasn't emotion; it was hysteria.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.🙄

No international games for the Eagles. Thank goodness.

I'm glad. None of the home teams looked like exciting match ups that would be allowed to be international...
