Josh Harris sucks. But the Sixers failures did and have always come down to that their best players suck under pressure and play worse in the biggest of games. You’re seeing the opposite of that with Jimmy Butler in Miami who’s playing his ass off when it matters.

The NBA is a star driven league more than any other sport and as long as Embiid and Harden continue to suck in these types of games they’re never going to win anything.

Embiid until proven otherwise is not a winner. He has a chance to change that legacy on Sunday. Same for Harden.

Harden is going to have his bags packed for Houston and fly there from Boston. He doesn’t give af.

Screwed the Sixers to buy the Commanders.

Not being serious here, but there is a clear difference between owners that treat it as strictly a business and owners who care about winning.

I 100% agree with you. The fact that the only thing they cared about at the trade deadline (with a team that was on the verge of being a title contender) and they knew they weren’t as good as Boston at that point was to get below the luxury tax. That tells me everything I need to know about Joshua Harris. If you really were about winning a title at all cost then you would’ve went and got more than Jaden McDaniels. because we knew they needed more than Jaden McDaniels. Instead they were focused on getting below the luxury tax because it was another $16 million in his pocket

Interesting that you take pleasure in this.

Nope. I hope they prove me wrong, but this is who they are until they prove otherwise. It's been happening since freaking 2018. We can't be the guy who gets screwed over time and time again by the same woman  and ignore what is coming

Embiid records 0 stats last 6 minutes of game. He’s not the issue but that’s unacceptable from an MVP.

He clearly needs to be better than that. And they need to figure out how to get them a ball. But you also got a credit Mazz the coach of the Celtics for making the lineup adjustment he did because he’s daring the Sixers to have to beat him with Harris, melton, Tucker and niang. It’s not a coincidence. The Sixers offense looked much better in the third quarter as niang was capable of hitting shots. It opened up things for maxey and embiid.

This is very similar to what happened to the Sixers with Ben Simmons vs. Celtics years ago. Because Ben Simmons couldn’t consistently make shots to create spacing (and really eventually just stopped shooting and teams fouled him) teams basically could play off sag down to go for the double on embiid. Making the entry tougher to get him the ball. And then double comes when embiid gets the ball forcing him to either beat two guys with his shot or be a passer hoping his teammates hit shots.

Last 4 games harris is 2-10 from 3. Melton is 4-15 from 3. So why wouldn’t mazz employ that strategy and even change his starting lineup? It makes sense. Everyone complained on here as melton bricked shot after shot in the 4th. Harris played 41 mins and wasn’t a threat at all especially after the 1st quarter. missed layups and open looks from 6-8 feet consistently early in the game. He was 1-6 in the first quarter. He took 1 shot the rest of the game and because he didn’t want to shoot cause he couldn’t hit shots and made poor decisions with the ball. it’s much easier to defend 4 on 5 add on melton, tucker and niang most nights (melton tonight) it’s closer to 5 on 3 if Harris and melton suck on top of that.

so it comes back to Embiid hast to figure a way to get the ball and be the dominant player he is. And doc has to come up with a plan if  those guys aren’t hitting to somehow get embiid enough touches and shots so that they can win this game.

this is a real archived story from 1983 where Terry Bradshaw used a pseudonym to check into a hospital so he didn’t get hounded by the press. He made up a name that shared his initials. It was Tom Brady.

How’s that for 1 in a million

Are there 2 worse contracts in sports than Tobias Harris? Are there any actually? 2 pts in 42 minutes. $180M. 36M/yr.

Maybe Patricia will bring some value to us for Week 1 vs the Pats.

Bobby Bonilla. That’s all I got.

Wolves would probably be open to trading Gobert straight up for Harris right about now

Ben Simmons is probably worse now. Amazing though the sixers had 3 of the worst contracts in the nba all on one roster at one point. Horford, Simmons and Harris.

Harris has value this offseason cause he has an expiring contract and someone will want it to clear $38 mil off their cap for the 2024 offseason.  even if you got just two role players back for him it’s better than having Harris. If those role players give you 6-8 ppg each and better defenders you are better off. Harris is a really bad fit for the roster you have constructed. He’s not a catch and shoot guy. He also not athletic enough to play wing and as a PF he doesn’t give you enough consistent range to be a stretch 4. Frankly he’s an average defender at best.

But Gobert represents the lost future of the worst franchise in American team sports history. They were actually better last year before they traded for him. Now giving up Beasley, Vanderbilt, and 5 1st round picks has ruined the franchise until at least 2030. The principle of it all goes far beyond statlines. Don’t be surprised to here that Minny wants to move him this offseason for whatever they can get

Oh the twolves 100% would want to move him. Frankly hard contrsct to move unless you are just gonna eat the money and take whatever. One of the worst nba trades I’ve seen in years.

Heading back down first week of October. One of my favorite places in the US, and I don’t even like country music. I just love really good corn bread that much.

That’s just what happens when you interview a lot of people and/or have them read a line.

May be the worst trade I've ever seen.

This is some great satire.

Actually... looking at it in retrospect, the Bonilla contract was actually brilliant.  It wasn't inflation adjusted, so because the payout was so spread out, the "real" cost in dollars at the time he signed was way lower than it appeared in the moment.  If they had paid him the same amount of cash during the duration of his career, it would have 'cost more' than it really did.

He signed for $29M and a 5 year contract... over $7M per year, which was the highest ever.  But, by spreading it out, they could put the balance that wasn't paid into an investment account, and likely earned more money back than they paid out to Bonilla over the life of the contract.
