He's opportunistic, but not a good tackler and gets caught out of position. Much like the Dallas CB who gets lots of interceptions but is awful iln coverage.

These players have value, but not the value they think b/c of the attention they get for their big plays, coaches watch every play in the film room.

Yeah, feel similar to this. He overvalued the fact that he had a bunch of interceptions on this defense. When you watch the film coaches looked at it and say they have so much talent on defense that he’s going to get more opportunities so he has a chance to be more opportunistic. Solak and sheil talked about it when you watch the film he was solid but he wasn’t anywhere near what he was trying to get. Then you add his personality to the mix and how he’s presented himself this offseason it makes a lot of sense why teams didn’t offer him anywhere close to what he wanted and why the eagles were ok moving on

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I can understand why... it's hard to get your foot into one league, let alone multiple.  So, you have to jump on what's available when it's available.

Oh definitely get that. Just the most random collection of teams with fan bases in areas that are rivals in other sports.

i still think getting or not getting that stadium is likely a make or break with whether he eventually sells the sixers

Our defense is built to rely on good reads and good tackling from the off-ball LBs.  That's it.  No playmaking, no astonishing sideline-to-sideline plays, no engaging OL, no getting into the backfield.  Edwards/White, generally speaking, didn't give them less than that and didn't give them more.  I think Dean presents the possibility of delivering more, while Morrow has the possibility of delivering less.  I suspect the net result will be comparable.

Safety is a tougher read for me.  The stats were great for CJGJ, but I think some of that was luck.  I'm not sure he was actually that great for us in coverage.  Not saying he wasn't, I just suspect (I don't rewatch all-22 etc).  I really haven't figured out what our old or new defense exactly wants from the safeties with respect to box support, single high, pure coverage, etc.  I always like to emphasize coverage, but I'm not certain what this semi-new scheme will prioritize.

Epps was just reliable.  He blew some tackles, got torched in coverage...sometimes...but generally did his job on both fronts.  I think the aggregate of Blankenship/Turner/Edmunds can probably net us an Epps.  The question will be if Brown can be molded into what they got from CJGJ.

Watching the All 22, Epps was a better S than CJGJ overall.  I thought CJGJ was best in the box. Really like Ghost’s instincts. If he was a bit faster, he would have been drafted but all are average to midline Ss at their best.  Better than Wallace.  Perhaps better than Edmunds.  You’re right that a number of the interceptions were as a recipient of other players’ actions and some were luck. I suspect Brown will make us forget the others.

Ghost? Assuming that’s Blankenship’s nickname? Never heard that

Epps stunk, and he and Blankenship were a frighteningly inept duo when paired together on the back end.  If Blankenship as an UDFA is better than Edmunds, who was a first round draft pick — that’s some league-wide faulty evaluation.

This schedule is the hardest on paper that I could remember.

11 games versus previous year’s playoffs teams. 2 from conference Championship, SB Champ.

We’ll likely have to play the 49ers, Cowboys, Seahawks or Vikings an extra time in the playoffs. The only contending team we’re not playing is the Bengals.

It’s gonna be a brutal season. Doesn’t mean we can’t win, but I don’t see us looking like last year.

To me there's a difference between having the same record and "not looking like last year." I think the Eagles could have a worse record but still look as good. Or look better even. Last season, never trusted the defense. If the offense is as good, and the defense is better vs good QBs, even if the record is worse, I'll trust em more in big games.

I really doubt Morrow is our starter week 1. I don’t think that person is currently on the roster. I’m willing to bet Howie makes a trade before the season starts.

Dude is a headcase and all drama  dodged a bullet

The longer he's been gone the happier I've been with him not being around any longer.

After all the money the team just spent changing it twice? No way. Still say they should have done the Washington Warthogs with Puumba as the logo.

This is the dumbest story in the world. Like Howie Roseman or other GM’s are chomping at the bit to get a free air bnb at the expense of their million dollar job. What an idiot.

I hate him because he gave us the best inside the building look with his one episode of his Super Bowl vlog and then never bothered to release the rest.

I think S is the move for a trade. What’s the best off ball LB Howie has ever traded for? Ernie Sims?

Frankly I’d just sign John Johnson and look to trade for a LB that’s on the last year of his contract and team might want to unload. Unless they go all in on baker. Baker and brown for the foreseeable future would be awesome.  However not happening

Much higher on base and Bogaerts drives the ball, which Turner doesn't do and has never done. Bogaerts has 30+ HR, 100+ RBI ability, when Turner has never been that type of player. Turner is a top of the order table setter hitter. Bogaerts is a middle of the order power hitter who consistently drives the ball.

Bogaerts is the better offensive player.

What is it with your woody about Turner?  You really come across as obsessed.

Yea the John Johnson thing doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. There was the report Chargers would jump on him if released and he has been invisible all off-season since getting released. You’d think he would be signed or teams would at least be poking around at him.

I still don’t think Howie would trade anything more than a 6th for a strictly LB. I’m not sure who would even be an upgrade at that cost.
