Saw a video with Schefter teasing that on Pardon My Take.  I don't know if he was just messing with those guys (one of them is big Commanders fan) or if he is legit hearing it is going to happen

Schefter was on a podcast I can't remember their names🤷‍♂️ two dudes big guy always wears baseball cap has a shirt beard, other dude had like a mullet and a baseball cap always wearing sunglasses in studio, both white guys, their other fat friend is a huge hurts fan they show up on my Facebook feed all the time, schefter shared a tweet with them, said he wasn't going to share his source yet, was about 15 minutes ago.

*Pardon my take

Red flag for decision making.

I don’t know dude — the guy has INSANE physical ability. His arm strength is elite, his size is elite, his running ability for a QB will instantly be among the best in the league. I haven’t heard anything bad about him off the field.

He’s super raw but physically he will be among the best in the NFL. Not too many guys that size with that arm and those legs.

I also think Hurts’ huge improvement and making it to the SB will raise the stock for some of the more raw but gifted QBs…for right or wrong.  I still feel his level of improvement is much more of an outlier than what can be the norm

Hopefully not inspired by their off field behavior.

I mean if I'm at a job interview and someone asks me who really Inspires me my first mention wouldn't be a convicted dog killer and a known sexual assaulter.

I wouldn't be like well you know I really look up to Jimmy the molester he flips a mean burger...🤔

Antonio Johnson is an interesting prospect at safety.  Has upside for sure, but he looks raw.

I’m curious if Jack Campbell can push himself into round 1. With the Fangio two-high shell taking over the league and teams attempting to play the run with less, he’s a fantastic fit. He’s big in the run game but athletic with long arms to cover ground in zone. The tape is good too.

Best coverage backer  in college football

3 down backer all day long

Wanted Campbell in RD2 to pair with Dean, but that seems to be less likely. LBs do go later, so it's possible.

Yup.

A guy like Richardson at Florida without hurts success probably isn't a first round prospect.

He's incredibly raw and has some really ugly tape but he's a freak athlete.

He still might not go 1st round but if he does Jalen hurts meteoric rise could be an example.

What are the NFL rules at play surrounding that?  Jackson's contract has expired so he's technically UFA.  Obviously the Ravens still hold control over the player via the franchise tag mechanism, and I assume it's not allowed to tag a player for the express purpose of trading him .... so this would need to be a sign-and-trade.  That, however, is not supposed to happen (in theory) because it would signal that the Commanders have, in essence, signed of on a contractual agreement with him -- even though it's signed by the Ravens -- in order for the trade to happen.

I would think the Ravens need to put the tag on him and Jackson has to refuse to sign it before a trade can be done, no?

I have no idea, that stuff is way above my pay grade...😉

Players can't be traded unless they sign the tag. So Jackson essentially has a no-trade clause.

Yikes

No, if he doesn't sign the tag he can't be traded.

Damon Harrison was good and played in the league for a while.

What would a Lamar Jackson compensation from Commanders look like?

About 50 times what he's actually worth.  He's an objectively declining asset who is seeking to be the highest paid NFL player.

Sounds perfect for them. Never sell the team, Dan.

We all saw this coming a mile away.  Dan can't resist a washed up former star.

I don't see anything definite on this one yet, looks like it's just rumors.
