Zach Berman said his sense from people he talked to at the combine are the Eagles won't be using the tag on anyone, even as a placeholder to buy time.

He also seems to think they will lose Hargrave, CJGJ, Bradberry AND Seumalo.

On their podcast, they said they thought they would keep either Hargrave or CJGJ but there's a greater chance they lose both than keep both.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I heard that too, that was a few days ago. This is what he wrote today.

Look for Hargrave, Gardner-Johnson, James Bradberry and Isaac Seumalo to all sign deals that put them at or near the top of their positions and give the Eagles a favorable spot for the compensatory pick formula.

If the Eagles can’t re-sign the players who helped lead them to the best record in the NFC last season, it stands to reason they’re unlikely to be in a position to sign high-dollar free agents from elsewhere. But their offseason won’t include only draft picks. They can be opportunistic with low-cost deals or lingering bargains in the second wave of free agency. One thing to watch is whether they target players who are released elsewhere, and thus won’t factor into the compensatory pick formula.

Eagles going DL(again) at pick 10 and taking Ringo later is my nightmare.

Ringo won’t last after his 40 anyway I bet he smokes it

Letting go CJG go is a mistake not only because of talent but leadership.

100% correct

If porter is 99 percentile for wingspan than what is the K states kids wing span percentile that is 2 inches more 😳

I think CGJ and Hargrave's status here will also depend on what they do with Edwards. I think a lot of the reporters are assuming they lock Edwards up, thus have less money for Hargrave or CGJ. But I'm not so sure the Eagles are going to rush to re-sign Edwards. Nor would I. He had a big year statistically, but I'm still not a fan of him in coverage. I think you can find LBs that can give you most of what he does elsewhere.

No way they letting CJ walk don’t buy it at all

OK, who are the locks to go in the top 10?

I have 4 right now. Stroud, Young, Levis, Anderson,

Someone is going to overpay for Edwards.  Jordan Hicks signed a 4-year $36 million contract after playing 4 yeras in Philly.  Edwards has played 4 years here as well.  TJ Edwards has 30 more tackles over the last 2 years (289) than Hicks had his entire career here (254).  They both had 5 sacks but Edwards only had 2 INT to Hicks 7.

Hicks also couldnt stay healthy and he still got $36 million.

Ewards is going to get paid.

I wouldn't pay Edwards.

LBs like him are a dime a dozen.

I like his work ethic and his Instincts though he apparently left those at home during the super bowl but some one will pay him, can't imagine it would be the eagles, they don't value LB and it's not like he's an all pro so...

Agreed.  He's the right age to be a force for years.

Hmmm...that could mean that he expects (if they leave) to sign those deals.  It certainly seems like they are not close to any deal.

I would add Tyree Wilson, Myles Murphy, Peter Skoronski, and Devin Witherspoon.  Pretty sure there will be at least one OL and one CB

How would you feel if Howie got a cheaper extension for Hurts than what the Giants sign Jones to?

Richardson seems to have cemented himself. Murphy, Wilson, Skoronski, Carter*

Witherspoon, Gonzales, Paris, Van Ness borderline

Losing CJGJ, Seumalo, Bradberry AND Hargrave would likely give us 2 3rds and 2 4ths + completely free up our cap for 2024 and beyond. It would suck for 2023, but will make us more competitive in the 2024-2026 window. Seumalo/Bradberry/Hargrave are too old for us to invest in. CJGJ or bust.

Well that's different than the other reports saying Jones is asking for too much

A lot of his reasoning seems to be based around Howies comments about not being able to make a reasonable offer to some higher priced guys and how they plan to receive high comp picks. I think we could still re-sign someone like Hargrave or CJGJ but it's going to take either them taking a discount or not having a strong market that brings their expectations down.

Because a lot of people jumped the gun. Of course Jones asked for too much at first, that's how negotiations work.
