Think he winds up in atlanta by the end of this. Whoever if I’m Carolina I’d likely try to make a push too.

Nonexclusive is a really big deal

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I really think the Eagles will restructure Slay and post June 1st cut him saving around 17M right now. The Eagles can get someone like Dean that is 26 or even trade for a younger option and save money.

Yeah why i felt some bs. If Lamar sees no one else is going to pay that and he softens his stance a little bit then I can see the Falcons getting back in on that. But really if he softens stance, I don’t really think the ravens gonna wind up trading him at that point.

At that point, the Ravens match and they basically let the market negotiate for them.

Basically, they're betting no one else will give him what he wants -- the Deshaun Watson fully guaranteed deal. If they do, well...Ravens get two firsts and rebuild. If he just gets offers in the range Baltimore has been making, then they can just match and keep him.

Basically telling Lamar -- you think we're lowballing you, then go prove it. I don't think anyone gives him the Watson deal, especially if the Jets get Rodgers.

Eagles have two firsts!

lol. I’m telling you the Jets are setting themselves up for a world of trouble If they don’t get Aaron Rodgers. Packers are gonna use the desperation of the jets in negotiations. I think they’ve been talking but i don’t think the price has been set cause I’m guessing with all the leaks it would’ve been leaked that there’s an agreement on compensation.

It was a smart move by the ravens unless lamar says I’m not playing for you anymore and i don’t want to be here. But I’m guessing he’s not gonna do that cause it’s the same contract he would’ve gotten elsewhere.

That would cost them more money than just designating him a post June 1st cut.

I know Ravens want him back but I wonder if the relationship has soured over this whole situation

Yeah, but then...he doesn't play anywhere. Ideally they'd have gotten a deal done, but CLE screwed up the market by being the Browns. No way you can give Lamar a fully guaranteed deal when he hasn't been able to finish the last 2 seasons.

Could definitely see it soured but at some point if the league tells the lamar the same thing then have to have some self reflection about maybe you were just wrong on what you thought your value was.

You wouldn’t be able to get any cap space until after june 1st.

They can do what they did with AJ and Jackson and get most of the cap savings now.

I wouldn’t, especially if I had to give up the draft compensation in the trade as well. However, I can totally see a team getting desperate like the Jets and doing it. If that Rodgers situation falls apart, they’re in a really bad spot. Because you’re either gonna have to go all in on Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency and I don’t think it’s a given he just go to the Jets. And if he signs somewhere like the Raiders and rodgers is elsewhere, then your only alternative is really Lamar Jackson. And at that point if you don’t do it, then you’re drafting a kid. you’re basically in the same spot you were with Wilson and if it fails everyone’s getting fired.

Got ya. I thought you meant a typical restructure.

Dean and Witherspoon would make it tingle...

Exactly. No reason to keep an declining expensive CB when there are younger long term options. It may help us bring back CJGJ or find a decent replacement there too.

Bo Wulf thinks if Carter starts to fall not only would Howie be interested in him, he'd trade up for him. Using one of next year's two 2nds. And then mitigate that by trading down from 30.

Lamar leaving might be a good thing. Paying so much for a guy that small could be a bad long term move.

Keep the cap space, get a bunch of draft picks, and use the eagles model of rookie contract QB + a strong team to try to return to the Super Bowl.

Giving Daniel Jones a big contract and franchising a RB. That's a franchise that knows what it's doing!
