I think this is a huge character thing. This would have occurred after Deshaun got his huge extension from Houston and 10’s of millions fully guaranteed at signing. No billionaire owner is just going to throw money around like this, Deshaun would have formally requested they pay for it… right after they gave him the keys to the vault
