It isn’t a slam dunk if he breaks his leg or tears an ACL and gets to play as many games on his second contract as Wentz did.  There is no slam dunk in football.  There always is injury risk.

10 years of Mahomes was a slam dunk

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

So here’s a question for everyone.  If Fletcher Cox could be signed for 1 year and UP TO $6M, would you do it?

He is already $10 million against the cap.   Up to $6 million depends on base and incentives and how easy those are to reach and how is spreads the cost to next year.  But $6 million sounds too rich.

What is really going on here with Slay? Forced restructure?

Cap voodoo. Probably trying to restructure/extend and lower his price

Noah Ellis?

He is much more of a 3-4 NT than a 3-4 DE.

Chiefs started two rookie corners

And we put up more points on offense than they did. What’s your point? If our pass rush gets home that game is different. If we had a defensive gameplan that put players within ten yards of Travis Kelce in the first half or their WRs in the redzone in the second half, we win that game going away. I don’t think the Chiefs in this SuperBowl is exactly the recipe for success.

How did he even find something in that size ... was Serena Williams having a garage sale?

Dude get a grip. Everyone else aside from you knew he meant 2023 was a lost cause. You’re just digging a deeper hole every time you bring it back up, twisting words with your attempt at semantics bailing you out.

The difference between you and me is that I don’t give a crap whether I am right or wrong.  In addition I believe there is no right answer to almost all questions.  Most questions have more than one right answer.  My goal is to increase the volume of discussion.  Your goal appears to be to suppress discussion.  That appeasers to be how you roll.

Karlaftis is looking like a better choice than Davis at this point.  I hated the thought of him last year because he was compared to Barnett a lot, wasn't flashy and seemed to lack burst.

Looking back, he's going to be a steady, Jared Allen type of player for them for years to come.  Kind of why I'm on the Van Ness bandwagon right now.  He isn't flashy but I just think he's going to be an incredible steady handful for OTs to handle over the course of a decade +.

Good assessment.  I see Foskey as the 2023 version of how you felt about Karlaftis in2022.

Well seeing as neither injury could be considered a career ending injury it remains a slam dunk to sign your franchise QB who is only 24 years old, one of the best QBs in the league and without a doubt by far the best QB in the NFC to a new deal.

Carson's career hasn't failed due to injuries.  Carson's career has failed because according to all accounts he is not well liked in the lockerroom and is too stubborn to allow himself to be coached and take that coaching to work on improving.  None of those are qualities that Jalen shares.

It would take more than #30 and they wouldn’t be interested in Slay. Would you do #30 and one of our 2nds next year?

Absolutely.

Angelo and I miss you wussbasket. What happened to the Eagles chat?

I guess the Eagles could no longer afford it, or maybe us being in the chat made it too difficult for them to manage. They eventually axed the whole board and now here we are.

I don't know if this was why the chat feature went away on the old EMB when it did, but at some point a few years ago, Invision did away with the feature entirely. So it no longer existed.

Get ready for the new chat feature @VaBeach_Eagle is setting up for next season

I'm pretty pleased that I got that working. I don't know how many people may or may not use it, but it'll be available and if we can get 1,000 members to subscribe to the EMB's YouTube channel, then get 4,000 hours of watched content, we can apply for monetization and have a potential new revenue stream for the board.

Without 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watched hours though, there's no way to even apply for monetization though. But that doesn't affect being able to use the channel for chats during games.

That’s what I think is in play. Howie called Drew Rosenhaus and said Slay needs to restructure and his play suggests a salary adjustment for 2023.  Rosenhaus countered with an extension demand (and probably no salary cut) to which Howie suggested he shop his client for a trade.  Power play with Howie holding the ability to refuse any compensation offered.

$1.5M of the $10M is his "voided” base salary.  Only $2.5M is the prorated "void year” bonus in 2023.  If he signed for the same deal as Graham his 2023 cap hit would be $8.5 rather than $10.

NOTE: the $10M is the acceleration of the void year prorated bonuses into the current year IF he is cut or traded.  They don’t accelerate if he is extended.  I know you know that, but it is worth noting.

Here we go again with your deep philosophic rants on an NFL message board. I don't care if I'm right or you're wrong. I just want to make sure you are comprehending what I'm saying.

Carry on - you have work to do moving the discussion along as our resident message board traffic officer.

Eagles have Sweat, Graham, Barnett and Robinson at 4/3 DE. Doubt they are playing a 3/4 but rather a 5/2 modified 4/3.  Fair amount of 4i.

The Eagles probably looked at the logs of the chat and we’re horrified by what they saw.

I will follow the channel. Can you upload a single 4,000 hour long video and I’ll watch it? I can even double the speed it plays and get it done in 3 months.

If we’re so worried about getting beat by good QBs, and offense is the thing to load up on, I’m fine taking Bijan Robinson at 30 if he’s there. That SHOULD be an immediate upgrade to Sanders that we can keep for 5 years. If we can sure up RG, our offense would clearly be the best in the league on paper. I like that Charbonnet kid a lot too. But Robinson feels like an eagles type player

You and I will have to agree to disagree.  Carson’s career has failed because of his inability to be the same QB either physically or mentally after his injury.  The mental part is the more important of those two, but both are important contributors to his failure/fall.
