I’d laugh so hard if the panthers took Richardson at 1. I tend to believe the athletic’s report more that it’s gonna be stroud

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I don't understand the hate for Fields.  He's been on a bad team.  He doubled his TDs from his rookie year going from 7 to 17 and rushed for nearly 1200 yards and 10 TDs as well.

Justin Fields year 2.  2242 yards, 17 TD, 11 Int.  1200 yards rushing, 10 TD  16 fumbles

Jalen Hurts year 2. 3100 yards, 16 TD, 9 Int.  780 yards rushing, 8 TD    9 fumbles

Not saying Fields is as good as Hurts, nor does he seem to be the leader Hurts is, but let's see him in year 3 with a 2nd consecutive year under the same coaching staff (the same thing we said about Jalen last year).  He's also going to have better weapons this time around with the addition of DJ Moore and whoever else they might add.

What do the advanced stats say about Fields (sorry I know I’m being lazy here). I remember doing a similar analysis of Jalen last off-season and he came out to be one of the more accurate QBs in the league (or at least certainly better than what his baseline passing stats indicated). Curious if those stats say similar about Fields.

In a day or two, I'll be able to see if having 8 playing at once will count as one or as 8 lol.

I just posted a new 'short', which is (as it's name implies), short:

Easy to watch and quick. We should all watch this and the other quick shorts VA has posted.  AND subscribe regardless of whether you will use the chat tool to help monetize the EMB.

We should have an EMB podcast with various members as guests. Would get @VaBeach_Eagle youtube partnered and make the website real coin

Your naïveté is substantial.  Read The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind and Body in the Healing of Trauma.  After you have done so, you may find your perspective on Wentz altered.

Matt, we have at least one medical professional on this Blog in that area of practice and at least a few of us with some level of expertise from the personal injury arena.  I can’t tell you how many studies I have read on TBIs.  Bottom line is the impact varies as does the recovery for each individual. Carson may have been impacted but his concussion wasn’t the sole cause of his fall.

Wentz’s flaws and fall don’t all tie back to his concussion.  He was demonstrating a failure to accept coaching long before that.  There are differing opinions on Wentz’s fall.  AFan points to the knee.  But he was demonstrating a failure to really try to correct his faults and accept coaching long before either injury with the Eagles.  I will be the first to admit that I was ****ing about it earlier than most on here and it may cloud how his injuries may have exacerbated his issues but given that some of us were pointing to issues before the Clowney hit suggests that maybe some issues (his fumbles, his hero ball tendencies) predated that hit.  There were hints from Doug about him needing a critical, firm hand in coaching

Richardson no matter what!

Yeah that’s a ridiculous overpay for what he is now. I’d thought at max he’d get 2 for like 12-13 with like 6-7 mil guaranteed. But then again the Texans and bears have ridiculous cap space so i also expected them to be dumb in their spending.

Titans though are in a situation with oodles of money and a soon-to-be coddled rookie QB. Avoid Trevor Lawrence rookie year errors at all costs.

I’m guessing you meant Texans but yeah. I also think they are idiots with their spending normally. It’s why i think some of these eagles FAs are gone cause teams like Chicago and houston will create a market where it’s stupid to pay that pricetag

I mean the Texans might have been the one team dumb enough to pay that. I’d be willing to bet no other team was coming close to that and it’s why he went there.

Any time a team brings in a new front office you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt they’ll fix previous regimes’ errors. Texans for a long time were the laughing stock, but we’ll see what Caserio and Demeco do

Listening to Pat Kirwan on NFL Radio he says Stroud is the only QB in this draft class he would use a first round pick on — I wholeheartedly agree.  Stroud is the best prospect, and I don’t see him as a franchise QB either

I agree with DJ’s latest top 50 prospects list where he ranked Hendon Hooker at #49 and said he wouldn’t be surprised at all if Hooker ends up having the best NFL career from this QB draft class.

I tend to agree. I really don’t love any of these guys. I love Levis arm but i think he has the same issue as josh Allen coming into the league but at least Allen could peg it on being at Wyoming so the competition and coaching wasn’t near what it was at a bigger school and pretty raw in terms of amount of games played. I think levis floor is the same as Allen but I don’t think he gets to that ceiling that Allen had or is at. I think depending on who’s coaching he likely just becomes a low end starter or journeyman.

I think stroud is likely the best and i dont think he’s a can’t miss type guy. I think he can be a top 10-15 Qb with the right team. With Carolina i worry the lack of talent and protection he gets punished and it hurts him long term. I am not a huge young fan. I think he’s likely a viable starter. But i don’t think I’d want to spend what it cost to get him. I really don’t like Richardson. I feel like his combine screams athlete that just relies on god given talent and is just the ultimate boom or bust. I think he busts. People compare him to cam i think physically i see it but cam had his own set of issues but i think relied too much on his athleticism and it eventually caught up and i think he was a better prospect than Richardson. Cam also showed more at auburn than Richardson did in college

if we are being honest if i couldn’t draft stroud and forced to take another another of the 3, I’d go levis only cause if I’m taking a Qb in the top 4 i want the one i think has the highest ceiling even if he has a lower floor. I think out of the other 3 his ceiling is the highest if he ever reaches it is another question. I tend to think young has a career where he’s at the level of tua when tua is playing well. I know others will disagree i just don’t love him

Was just thinking about teams that traded a massive haul to take a QB high in the draft and it paid off:

2016 eagles traded a bevy of picks including multiple 1st rounders for Caron Wentz. They won the SB the very next year

2016 the Rams traded a bevy of picks to move up to take Jared Goff, they made the SB in 2 years, right after Philly. Goff had a 42-20 record for LA in the 4 years after his rookie reason… before they traded him for their SB champion QB

2017 Texans traded a future first to move up for Deshaun Watson. Player ended up being totally worth it, but the person not so much

2017 the Chiefs traded a future first to move up and get Patrick Mahomes. Clearly the right decision

2018 the Bills traded up twice to get Josh Allen. Worked out awesome

2021 The 49ers traded 3 1sts to move up for Trey Lance and proceeded to make 2 consecutive NFCCGs. He had little to do with that, but they’re set for years to come regardless.

I see Colin Kaepernick labels his adoptive parents as racist in his upcoming book.  That’s the very definition of biting the hand that feeds you

The epitome of a complete scumbag, to trash your own parents — ESPECIALLY adoptive parents, who pulled you out from whatever mud you’d have ended up in.

How proud they must be.

@VaBeach_Eagle you should have 40+ hours of youtube video views. I'll send you my increased electric bill as a thanks.

Stroud looks every bit a franchise qb

Oh, I wasn't making that statement saying they should trade for him.  Just seems like in general there's a very negative opinion of him on the boards.

The same kind of negative opinion of Hurts that existed 14/months ago.
