He blocked me too. And all I asked him for was to do was show the stats that countered his stats.

still my best block was caplan who blocked me for saying it’s a fluid situation under his tweet

Yes, exactly right on my point about "average speed” or maybe a better way to talk about it would be "team speed.”

Achane is a guy I really like. He’s absolutely electric with the ball in his hands. That said, I’m not as convinced he can handle regular slot duty to the level that Gibbs can. Achane is smaller, has smaller hands, but is perhaps a bit faster and quicker. He’d be a great "plan B” to Gibbs, but where to take him is tricky. I don’t think he makes it to our 3rd. He might not even make it to our 2nd, though he probably will. Is Achane enough of a weapon as a runner and receiver to warrant a second round pick?

Personally, I’d want someone like Gibbs, Achane or Mitchell AND a speed guy in the slot. The NFL favors spreading defenses out and using speed and elusiveness for chunk plays.

Davis from TCU should be a late round pick. He’s tiny, doesn’t have the best hands for a slot WR, but he’s got 4.3 speed and playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. Might be interesting in the 6th/7th or as an UDFA.

I don't really want to be jumping up and down about Achane.  I don't know enough about him besides the numbers.  The size issues are a bit troublesome.  And he might go in the 2nd which might be too high.

What I do like is the idea that you can get a very fast rb and put him in the slot.  And I think that Achane fits the category of very fast, and I think you can put him in the slot.  He also could be the starting RB.  I think Gainwell will be the starting RB week 1.  Achane is not a short yardage RB, but in college he ran between the tackles plenty.  He's strong enough to do that.

I like Roschon Johnson the most, because he's the RB version of Jalen Hurts.  Great QB in high school, who became a RB in HS.  Same size as Jalen.  Can do the 4th Q, run out the clock running that Jalen could do, but the Eagles probably would rather have a RB do, especially if that RB is almost identical to Jalen.  They also could have Roschon relearning QB as a QB3.    What happened in 2022 when Jalen was out?  Minshew was in, and the Eagles had no backup QB who could run and no backup RB who could run with power.  And the Eagles lost.

When we talk about adding new fastest guy,  are we talking about no Quez?  Because Quez is not a FA, and I assume Quez is with the Eagles next year.  There isn't any actual need for a new slot.  It's just bonus to have a new RB who is faster than Quez,  who can line up in the slot occasionally.

He might see less double teams as a 4-3 3T, the UGA scheme called on its DL to soak up blocks and give its LBs clean looks (UGA gets most its sack production via the blitz).

Sure, he might.  Doesn't make me want him any more though.  I've never once watched a UGA game or any highlight tape of him and said this is a guy I want on the team.

Would you be happy trading up in 2022 for Davis knowing he might play 50% of the snaps and then using pick 10 in 2023 on a guy who plays the same position who already gets winded playing less than 400 snaps?  If he was winded being used that much, how can we have any faith he is going to work to improve that?  400 snaps would have been 36% for the Eagles this year.

No thank you on using back to back 1st round picks on 2 players who project to play 80-90% of the snaps.  I'd rather have drafted 2 players who never come off the field.

No worries, my take after 315 pages.

Not personal, just reading.

Ya ok. Not personal but went out of your way to @ me lol.

Today's XFL games have been incredibly entertaining.  St. Louis deserves an NFL team and their fans are showing up.  They had the lower level of the bowl filled and it was loud.  Great atmosphere. Washington has made the beer snake legal again and having Joey Galloway and Matt Barrie calling the game is giving it a very college feel.  Really enjoying these games.

ITB must be having a field day right now since everything appears to be so fluid right now. I'm sure they will have all of the intel this week.........after everything happens.

Draft a corner, safety or linebacker I guess - you shouldn’t really be getting much more than 66% from a starting defensive lineman.

ITB will unload the bag and we’ll hear all we need to know entering FA. Who will walk, who will be traded and who will be targets for us to sign on Day 1? Tune into Fridays pod to find out!

Pretty sure it goes on the scoreboard.

Yeah, sure does. But it isn’t relevant to the point. The entire point is "do we have a QB who can out score Mahomes without a great defense and the answer is yes. The only thing holding up your argument is a defensive TD fluke.

What’d they (not ITB specially) say last year? The craziest off-season in 25 years?

And Davis will never come close to that.  He'll be lucky to get to 50% of the snaps.

What time does the news start hitting tomorrow? 12am? 12pm? 4pm?

They mentioned Reddick before FA started but kinda poo-pooed it because they thought he might not be a good fit. That scoop aged well.

It's really funny how every year around free agency they bring up how they had all of the intel on Byron Jones a few years ago.

Think back, lose the sensitivity and consider the body of your content. We met on even ground, don't you remember?

You don't like to be challenged. That's okay, but I've been reading every post in here, every day. 315 pages. It's what I do.

As I Said, my take. Your content. Sorry if you disagree.

The answer is no. We didn’t outscore him. We lost.

Yeah we were cool and then you came out of left field @ me and said I’m disregarding opinions in here. Nice way to say hello.

AJ/Smitty allow us more than enough talent and speed to stretch the field. People are still trying to build this team like it’s 2019.

I’d rather someone who can get open, and catch the ball with his hands than Quez. Theilen on a cheaper deal, Darius Slayton would be interesting. I still like Greg Ward tbh. I think he’sa terrific Slot/4th WR.

I've mentioned that the Eagles have legit stars at 3 pass catching positions plus QB.

The Eagles have to replace 2 RBs,  it think it would be cool if one of those 2 RBs had top speed and could line up in the slot. Achane could do that.

I like Greg Ward Jr.  I'll take all of the ex running QBs.   Ward is one,  Britain Covey is one, Tyree Jackson is one.  I assume that Quez will be there next year and I don't think a new WR needs to be brought in.  But I do think that if superfast isn't expensive, outside runs with superfast rb would be something I'd want to see and Achane could do that.  Read option with Hurts inside and Achane outside would be potent.

The Eagles don't really need another high quality pass catching target.  They have 3 stars at that.  And I don't think the Eagles are planning on taking Brown, Smith and Goedert off the field all that much.  Most throws will go to those 3 guys.  A superfast guy who lines up in the slot will stretch the field and make it easier for QB star to throw to WR/TE star.

Hey guy! You're an Eagles Fan, I respect that right outa the gate...

I never went "out of my way" to tag you. You have been a prolific poster lately and I Agree with a lot of your content, so I included you..again, don't be so sensitive, it's not all about you...

Parris Campbell on a 1 year deal seems like an inevitability at this point

Yup - unless JD gets into gear with a pass rush of sorts, situationally he shouldn’t be on the field more than that.  The 2-4-5 stuff Leonhard is running might of given him more work. 1st/2nd down, short yardage and RZ is an important niche - but still a niche.
