THIS IS NICE!

Reserving judgement to see how much he got and if he passes a physical. Dude is always injured and right now is injured with multiple injuries that required complicated surgery.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I hope this is sarcasm I'm not detecting, otherwise my opinion of Solak is changing

Gainwell, Penny, Scott screams championship

Rashaad Penny is "fine" if he came VERY cheap and if they will be making a second, agile/elusive addition to the backfield.

An injury prone rb to replace an injury prone rb....................................perfect!!!!

He’s finished the season on IR 3 of the last 4 years. Good news is he only has 337 total rushing attempts in 5 years. He’s fine when healthy but he rarely stays healthy. Unless they got him for basically nothing they could’ve waited and got him coming off his broken leg

Don’t forget trey sermon lol

Actually really like the Penny signing. Hes not going to be asked to run as many times per game as he did in Seattle. Draft another mid round RB and I really like our group.

penny is f'n explosive. a homerun hitter for sure.

for the 3-4 games per season when he's healthy.

Penny and Spears, thunder and lightning.

Penny going to need extra smoothies please.

Hope the Eagles still draft another RB in the mid rounds.

Interesting idea.  I’d prefer Banks to Porter and I believe Campbell is still on the Board at 51, and 37 should be Jahmyr Gibbs.

The real question is the timing.  I always argued that if you shake a tree hard enough, a serviceable veteran RB will fall out.  If he is their CHEAP serviceable veteran RB addition to provide insurance to Gainwell and a jitterbug in the draft...that works, that's fine.

But he's the type of player that should be signing a contract about 3 weeks into FA.  You get him for 1 year $2 million after no one else commits.  The fact that he signed so early suggests that he's inexplicably getting decent money.

I'm fine with Penny. Doubt this stops them from grabbing one from this great class...unless they love Sermon WAY more than they've shown thus far.

Why? Just why

If he’s healthy he’s actually good. Averaged 6.3 and 6.1 yards per carry last two years. Problem is he never stays healthy. He’s played 28 of the Seahawks last 66 games (last 4 years)  due to injury. Meaning he’s played in 42% of the possible games. The dude is made of glass

Penny is good for what the Eagles need as part of a RBBC.  Gainwell can be the receiving back, Penny can be the north-south RB between the tackles, and a 3rd/4th round pick can be the change of pace.

More importantly, Penny -- not Hurts -- will be the RB getting the 'tough' yards.

I’m ok if Penny is just a high upside flyer, with minimal guarantees. Still need more depth in the backfield.

Those 5 to 6 weeks will be great until Penny gets put on IR

More like Rashaad dollars am I right.

Exactly. His career high in attempts is 119 in one season. He's not going to be anywhere near the league leading rusher.

He’s pretty sick, again if healthy

Primary things I did and didn't want with FA, in no particular order:

- Don't sign Hargrave to a $20m annual deal.  Show some faith in our young draft picks at the position.

- Don't sign Sanders to a lucrative extension.  Find an appealing veteran for cheap in FA and find an elusive receiving back later in the draft.

- Find one young player in FA that is a long-term upgrade.

I don't think #3 is going to happen, but we are good to go on 1 and 2.
