I'm curious if we passed on that or if Minshew just wanted to play. That's dirt cheap.

Gotta think it was a little of both.  In a few starts last year he was terrible here.  Literally no chance of any QB controversy here anytime soon.  I wish him well.  That Jets game was legendary and his mustache is amazing.

I'd be more worried that we will not able to extend Jalen anytime in the near future.  I don't want him getting anywhere near free agency.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I still think Pascal could come back. Sirianni likes him. He's a dirty work kinda guy.

I'd be happy with that. He's a good WR4. I really think Mills coming back would be nice too. A backup like that who can play multiple spots is invaluable.

Any chance CJGJ signs with the Giants now that they lost Love?

Unless he signs with someone else, CJCJ has a chance to sign with the Giants per Ruben Frank

It's the Colts. He has a better chance to start with them than us lol

I'm sure they have that baked in.  They have a team of smart guys who are projecting contracts out for years and playing monetary scenarios out.

Obviously. My point was I wonder if Eagles wanted him back at all, given that they paid more than double for the guy to replace him. Or if Minshew took less/the same to go somewhere else.

How is 5 more than double of 3.5?  I know the incentives are there but those are probably appearance and achievement based

Well disregard that part, for some reason I thought it was $8M + incentives

Couldn’t think of a more perfect backup for this team than Mariota on paper. Maybe Jacoby. Good signing though IMO.

Estasi ?   How have you been?

Yeah I'd get why you would wonder that.  Prior to Mabimes winning the Super Bowl the only teams to ever win a Super Bowl in the past were teams with QBs on rookie deals/value contracts.

People are getting just flatpur goofy here.

Late to the party and all that, but after you give your opinion, you always seem to take a shot at somebody, even if it's a shotgun style hit, designed to smoke anybody in range. Even those who are not engaging with you.

That behavior is representative of an insecure, defensive mentality, expecting pushback by inviting it.

Just sayin, Bub, why so worried?

Just realized Poyer got a 2 yr - $10 mil deal with $4.5 mil guaranteed.

Getting more optimistic CGJ is coming back with the safety market being what it is.

Minshew had 17 fumbles in 22 starts in Jax. It was a concern for a guy with otherwise very good stats.

He had 4 fumbles and 3 picks in the 2 games the Eagles needed him in 2022.

He was a bad QB last year. You move on.

My guess is a deal is done but they will wait until after June 1 to make it official for salary cap reasons. It seems like those mega deals always get done after the start of the league year.

I have faith in Howie for managing the cap.  Honestly, I think our championship window is still wide open and will be for at least the next few years.  We're in hardcore win now mode.

How can anyone have any kind of cap numbers on the Eagles without the Slay deal details?

Yeah I saw a guy on YouTube who estimated the slay deal could save us up to 13m$ this year

Knowing Howie, 13M is probably on the conservative side. There's definitely going to be some dummy years tacked on.

It for sure has dummy years, but I doubt it would be more savings. The max amount coming off the books is his $17M base salary. It then gets replaced by whatever his new base salary which is likely vet min so slightly over $1M plus his new signing bonus proration. $13M sounds pretty spot on.

I would note for some of those bottom roster ??, Howie has signed some players with NFL experience.  For example, Cleveland at WR is almost Pascal size.  McCollum and Chachere and maybe Williams at S, perhaps Noah Elliss at DT, the Williams Ts or Robinson at T or T/G. Maybe they like the progress of Taylor at LB.  Got to fit at least 4 draft choices on the roster too.   BTW, draft is back to where it always should be, BPA for the future.

Thought we had to be under by the 1st day of the league year. These sites have no idea what Howie is doing.
