Nolan Smith is him but he will probably be a falcon

I tend to agree. They don't have anyone like him on their roster.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I’m late on this but does the Mariota signing imply that we are still going to be running the "Let’s Run Jalen Hurts into the Ground” offense?

That’s cool. Lurie is about to pay the young man $180-$200M guaranteed to not finish a full season over the next handful of years and then have to find a new QB.

Could see it in a 3-4 but then is it worth a high pick?

now as a edge guy in a 3-3-5? Yup i can see that. The down safety role

I at least applaud him for having a different opinion and putting it out there which differs from most others, whether right or wrong. Smith does look a bit out of place when pass rushing. He just has that amazing speed and athleticism. He needs to work on the pass rushing fundamentals.

Not Mills

For the record, I’ll be shocked if the Eagles go with anything besides DL with their first pick. I’m guessing they trade back 3-7 spots, pick up a couple mid round picks, and go DL.

I wouldn’t completely rule out an OL at 10 but if that were to happen I’m assuming it’s someone they could plug him in at RG right away then bump him out to either tackle spot when the time comes. At 30 it’d more than likely be a swing tackle for a year with the assumption that Lane has a strong chance to retire, a similar thought process for the Jurgens pick last year.

Side note: @hputenis pees sitting down

That's only if the water level is low enough, otherwise, my mammoth hog tip gets wet Greg Lugaynus!

We need starters, not depth, at S at this point. I'm fine with Blankenship manning the one spot for now.

I'd be shocked if Rapp, Johnson or Amos aren't signed and I think it will be Amos

yuck

Up to 6.1. I think the 'up to' is doing a lot of work there. They cut him when he was owed 5

It's more just from a continuity standpoint. With Minshew we had to pretty much overhaul our normal gameplan because he was zero threat to run so it took out 75% of our playbook. That doesn't automatically mean they're going to run him 10-15 times per game.

Good catch. Part of why Schefter is so well connected is that he’s quite the parrot for both agents and front offices. It’s a remarkable skill.

Good Morning Football had Rodney McLeod on today and the hosts were asking him about a potential return to Philly and he was open about it and talked about how much he loved playing here.

He can’t be a starter but he’s better than Wallace as a backup.

What about Darnell Savage as a trade option?  Last year of his deal and GB tanking.  10 for 15 and Savage?  That's roughly high 3rd round value.  GB would probably have to eat some of his $$$ as owed over $7 million this year.  He's also only 25

5. RODNEY MCLEOD, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (80.1)

The 11-year veteran thrived as the strong safety in Gus Bradley’s Cover 3 scheme, taking over as the starter in Week 3 and never looking back. McLeod was targeted 59 times in coverage — the second most at his position — and allowed just a 64.4% completion rate, earning the third-best coverage grade (85.3) among safeties. His success in covering running backs, tight ends and slot receivers in the passing game earned him the sixth-best wins above replacement (WAR) figure at his position.

There goes the Blog's favorite safety.

McLeod was pretty good last year. But it would be hard to trust another 33 year old guy starting in the secondary. Especially with his injury history.

They do but his name is Kyle Pitts and he plays TE.

I can see a G being take in round 1 but towards the end of it - would fit what they have done in recent years. Would I do it?  No, but the history is there.  I don't see 2 x DL in round 1 at all.

Not a big fan of any of the guards in the 1st.

Landon was taken in the 2nd Seumalo 3rd jurgens 2nd Round

Shawn Andrews was the last Guard the eagles took in the 1st round and that was 20 years ago so not sure what history you are referring to?

Tend to agree with your take on not taking 2 DL in the first, though I'm not entirely sure they keep both 1sts.🤷‍♂️

First goal for the Eagles next season is to win the division, then seeding considerations come afterward.  Very difficult to get the #1 conference seed two years in a row.  The 2023 division schedules are:

NFC East -- plays NFC West and AFC East

NFC West -- plays NFC East and AFC North

NFC North -- plays NFC South and AFC West

NFC South -- plays NFC North and AFC South

AFC East -- plays NFC West and AFC West

AFC West -- plays NFC North and AFC East

AFC North -- plays NFC West and AFC South

AFC South -- plays NFC South and AFC North

I don't see any blatantly easy schedules like the NFC East had last season, beating up on the NFC North and AFC South.  That schedule rotation goes to the NFC South this season -- coincidentally, another weak division of its own.  The AFC rotation to me at the moment favors the Bengals to be the #1 seed, as they'll get the NFC West in a downward trend and the AFC South.

Right now, my guess is the NFC North has the easiest schedule rotation in the NFC, playing against the NFC South and AFC West.  Can the Vikings or Lions take advantage of that for the division winner to get the bye?  I doubt the Packers or Bears can.

Glad Mills isn’t coming back. If for nothing else, don’t have to listen to people convince themselves he’ll be just as good as CJGJ next year. Be patient and pursue higher upside guys. If they can get someone like Amos super cheap for depth in the mean time so be it. But they should not be spending 6m on average at that position.
