We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I find the Lamar Jackson situation to be fascinating.

1-3 in the playoffs.  Hasn't appeared in the playoffs since 2020.  Hasn't hit 3,000 yards passing since 2019.  Has never hit 3200 yards passing.  His ENTIRE game is predicated on rushing; his rushing totals have declined for FOUR consecutive years.  Unlike a Jalen Hurts, he has shown no signs of evolution or adaptation.

This is not subtle.  It is painfully obvious that he's a declining asset.  And everyone acts like it's some disgrace that he's not getting Mahomes money and commitment.

Yep, and for me his inability to stay on the field is also a problem.  Running QBs usually have a pretty short shelf-life, and I wonder how much longer Lamar has.

You're downplaying Lamar's ability as a passer.  He throws a nice ball.  Ravens have done a downright terrible job of giving him offensive weapons.  Outside of TE he has had nothing.  No other top young QB in the league right now has had less to work with on offense.

This is why I think he'd be a good fit for a team that's very close and has the weapons in place.  Give Lamar weapons and use him for the short term to win now.  What teams are in that position, though?  Teams that (1) have weapons, (2) need a QB?  I think it's basically just the Jets?

Didn't a lot of the draft gurus really like Barnett becaues of his "bend" though?

I kinda want to blame it on Joe Douglas. Two 1sts -- Barnett and Dillard. Douglas is a big "what they show on the field" guy and seems to ignore other physical limitations that might set the ceiling at the NFL level.

No. We will not have a discussion publicly. You cant possibly call me out. Im an open book. You can say whatever you want. You're enjoying your power. Im above it.

Last night it was clear the adults in the room were on my side. I can only hope VA took notice to your style which only proved moderation here IS a problem. Either way, I took it as a win, and Im done interacting with you.

To clear the air about whatever dirt you are pretending to have on my, I PMd VA once, months ago before any of this RTK/4for4/DUM drama was going on. My PM was about something going on in CVON. He told me he isnt involved in modding, and I let it die right then. The only other time I discussed anything via PM with VA was when DUM told me VA asked anyone interested to message him about this issue. There was no back and forth between he and I. It was a one and done thing. He said he would address concerns and asked if I would like to remain anonymous. I said yes, for obvious reasons. Maybe that didn't happen.

So over this issue, I have PMd him exactly 1 time, only at his request (at least to my knowledge).

I also made 1 comment on a youtube video a while ago. I already admitted to that. I did not spam the channel. I was definitely not involved in contacting his personal channel or email address.

There have been some posts in here before the super bowl which everyone knows, and I got suspended for 24 hours during the super bowl. I sitll have 2 points even though the suspension was reversed.

Thats it. Thats everything I have done. You wont be allowed to group me in with who ever did all the crazy stuff. Ive not harrassed him, or any of the mods. Nice try though. I guess the TOS about defamatory posts dont apply to mod behavior.

Hopefully in the future @VaBeach_Eagle will have a discussion with me in PM. Im not PMing him. Im not emailing him. And Im not messaging him on youtube. He can reach out if he ever gets to it.

Thats all I have to say. Enjoy your thread in RnR. Ill only join if it looks productive. If its just you instigating more drama making more threats and F around and find out sytle posts, Im not interested.

How am I involved in any drama with them? Both I had on ignore for well over a year and never interacted with them.  Them not being able to handle me having them on ignore is their own fault.  Quit trying to drag my name through the mud because you can't handle how your sociopath buddies got themselves banned.

Seemed to work just fine with AJ last year

Arguably we overpaid for AJ.  However, we were much more desperate at WR than we are at DT currently … and the impact of a DT on the quality of Hurts’ play is essentially zero, while the impact of AJ’s play on the quality of Hurts’ play was mammoth.

I meant to ask earlier...is there some way to find out the Eagles history of Senior Bowl players as well as their combine and official visits and how they correlate with the draft.  How many of those guys did they eventually end up drafting?  Could give us some more ammo when trying to figure out what direction the Eagles are leaning.

I thought I remember draft guys talking about how he was NFL ready because of his technique.

Because if a team wants Lamar but doesn't want to give up two 1sts, the Ravens take the best they can get. Maybe a team wants to give 1 first and 1 player. Maybe they will go as high as 1 first and 2 seconds. There is no "offer sheet" in this scenario, it's Lamar signing the tag and then getting traded to a team who then work out a deal with him, which the groundwork would already be done before a trade like any other high profile trade.

I get that's possible but I just don't see a team taking on Lamar with that kind of uncertainity in a long-term deal.  I also don't think the Ravens are interested in trading him for nothing.

I think the weapons for Lamar is a chicken-and-egg argument.  Lamar was extremely efficient in his MVP season because the Ravens offense lived between the hash marks with throws to the TE -- Andrews/Boyle/Hurst combined for 125 catches and 1,522 yards.  Their leading WR (Brown) had 584 yards.  Defenses adjusted, as they will always do, and Lamar's inability to throw the ball outside the numbers became evident.  In short, the Ravens have struggled to draft WR talent because Jackson has struggled to get the ball to them -- chicken and egg.

Lamar Jackson isn't going to find another offense that caters to his abilities as the Ravens have.

Man...if that PFF had only said "fieriest" instead of "feistiest" then we'd really have our guy.  Just a few letters off.  Damn.

I’ll give it 9 out of 10 Howies. It would be a 10 if Gibbs replaced Smith.

He likely wouldn't play much his rookie year. Howie has already said he doesn't care if the picks play right away and drafting for immediate need has killed them in the past, they draft for the future in mind.

@BigEd76 does a great job with his annual thread of prospects "the Eagles are interested in", in the NFL Draft section of the EMB.

Do you want Gibbs mainly as a slot receiver?

Redskins too would be a dangerous fit for him.  They have some talented WRs.

You mean I have to leave this thread?  I don't think I've done that in years.

I suspect they pick at #10.  The current draft board looks like this to me:

1)  CJ Stroud (Panthers)

2)  Bryce Young (Texans)

3)  Will Anderson (Cards)

4)  Will Levis (Colts)

5)  Jalen Carter (Seahawks)

6)  Tyree Wilson (Lions)

7)  Christian Gonzalez (Raiders)

#8) Myles Murphy (Falcons)

9) Paris Johnson (Bears)

That would leave the Eagles a choice between Witherspoon, Skoronski, Van Ness, Bijan Robinson .... if a couple of wildcards like Anthony Richardson and Nolan Smith (who are NOT top 10 prospects) go off the board, then the Eagles could get a very good player at #10.

Witherspoon is the choice there, but I would be more inclined to trade down 5-10  picks.

Dillard is a gifted athlete.

I think they missed that he was older and would struggle to anchor. There were also some personality issues that should have been factored into drafting him.  He wasn't seen as a bad pick from an athletic standpoint.  But for Mailata, he would likely be doing OK as the Eagles' LT.

Derek Barnett was definitely a miss and the Eagles were too set and drafting an edge rusher.  Douglas definitely over valued college production.

The Ravens are a top 10 offense with Lamar and a bottom 3 offense without Lamar, per EPA. Ravens need Lamar more than vice-versa.

100%. The Ravens are the ones botching this situation, not Lamar. The anti-Lamar narrative among some media members and NFL fans is just plain stupid and really makes you wonder.......

I would actually be surprised if Gibbs isn't converted to a slot WR in the NFL.
