Obviously, but I also don't see any visits with the prospects I would value as first round targets.

Not a big issue; the last time the Eagles drafted a first round favorite target of mine was Lane Johnson in 2013 -- and #4 overall should be a slam dunk.  These visits also don't necessarily correlate to the actual pick.

Yeah, I feel a lot of these are "we may be interested in this guy, so if you are too you'll need to move up visits."

Look at the dead money number next to it; that’s what Titans eat.

29yr old safety who’s dangerously close to being a cap casualty, plays the 11th most expensive position on defense, and has already gotten his big money. Howie can give him a long deal with a bunch of phony years at the end that he can push way back a la Darius slay until Byard is long gone. This dude is gonna cost us maybe a 3, unless they were really close to dumping him then it’ll be less

vs

a 25 yr old DT who will be looking to agree to a record DT contract (100m$+) before any trade is agreed upon, as he isn’t leaving Tennessee for any other reason a la AJ Brown. Plus he’ll cost us a 1st+, and ultimately roster talent we’ll have to purge over the next few years to maintain that deal.

Get Byard, and still be able to afford the Josh Sweats and Landon Dickersons when they come up later on

So this is Jeffrey Simmons current contract.  If TN was to trade him they would be responsible for the entire contract?

Excluding QB's, how many guys in this draft class would have gone top 10 last year?

Anderson, Wilson and maybe Carter are the only guys I can think of.

Josh Sweat just got an extension.

I can’t imagine any big moves being made until Hurts is signed

No. Just look at base salary only when contemplating trades. That's what the Eagles would take on.

That is a fifth year option. You have the system set to cut, change the drop-down on the top right to trade.

Fifth year contracts are fully guaranteed salaries to the team that owns the rights. So if he was traded to Eagles, we’re on the hook for the 10m. It’s only a full dead cap for Tennessee if they cut him, because it’s fully guaranteed.

But that wouldn’t be what he’d play on for Philly, we’d have to agree to a 25m$+ AAV contract before that trade went through. Not unlike AJ brown

May have just been for phony years to spread out prorations. Next year is his last year in under contract at this moment

I would love to see a great running back especially a power back behind this Offensive Line, but I don't think GM Howie Roseman is going to draft Bijan in the first round despite many fans thinking that will happen.

If I had to guess it will be WR Quentin Johnston from the TCU Horned Frogs. I understand the thought process of alreadying having two great Wide Recivers and how GM Howie decided to trade instead of draft a WR in the first round of last year's draft because previously drafting WRs in first and second round haven't turned out the way he had hoped. That being said Quez Watkins was a bit of a disappointment, and the team needs depth at WR should one of our star WRs if not both get injured. At 6'4" 215lbs runs the 40 yard dash in 4.3 having 60 receptions for 1,069 yards and 6 TDs (17.8 yards/rec) this wide reciever could play at split end (SE/X) or flanker (FL/Z) but he excels at vertical receiver.

--------------------------

"I feel like physicality, that's something to do with it. But if you want to be any type of successful in this game and in this sport, it's all a mindset," Johnston said - Giants.com
(March 5, 2023 at 9:10PM EST- Matt Citak)

"Just being a taller receiver, my ability to get in and out of my breaks," Johnston told reporters about his strengths. "As a taller receiver, usually unless you've already been in the league, been here a minute, you know it takes taller receivers more time to get in and out of breaks. It makes it easier for DBs. That's something I work on a lot – playing like I'm 5-10." - (same as above)

Not only would he be a fantastic choice at 10 overall in the draft, it'll really piss of the NY Giants fans and who doesn't love that?

I said before I think outside of QBs last year’s top 10 was better, but overall the whole first round this year is much better. Once you get to 10 the options are much better this year. Which is good for the Eagles who pick right on that edge.

Josh Sweat signed a three year extension with the Philadelphia Eagles on September 18, 2021.

That seemed like it was only yesterday.   I'm old.

I have a feeling hurts deal may be intentionally post-june1. We should have a few Capp alleviations things going through then

I think he should be a priority before he has a Haason Reddick type year and costs us 22m+ aav

I don't think there is anything currently. Kelce, Graham and Cox were all designed to be, but obviously not happening now.

We made 5 NFCCGs right before we became a Shady-centric offense, and then made 2 more shortly after moving on.

May be coincidence, but none of the contemporary feature backs are making it very far in the playoffs. Henry made a AFCCG 4 years ago, Lynch made a couple 10 years ago. That’s about it

Bradberry’s 2022 contract was huge in void years, we may have auto-June 1std him to push that back when he hit FA

I hope not.  Not because I don't like him as a prospect, but he's quite raw without a well-defined route tree.  I think he'll be overdrafted; he's gonna have to be used a very specific way.

He does certain things similar to AJ Brown in the vertical passing game but I don't think he excels in the short to intermediate zones.  I think he'll be a big-play WR but will also vanish from week to week.

Having said that, I definitely don't want to see him going to an NFC East rival.

HendonHooker at 30?

  @EaglePhan1986 Wasn't that also part of your new contract so your boss, Bruce, could give you a quarterly pickle tickle if you hit your numbers?

If CJ has a come down year, then all is forgiven. But if he has another high turnover season and plays well, people are going to be pissed and rightfully so. Especially if the Eagles have safety issues during the season. We’ll see who is right. In about 9 months.

I think Hooker goes early second round, but I've heard some rumblings about Minnesota taking him if he gets to #23.  If not, the Rams should take him at #36.

Bradberry, Edwards, White and Hargrave automatically voided Feb 20th so their dead money is what it is and not going to change.

The other guys had everything stay in place for 2023. No acceleration of anything so nothing from them is going to change.

Unless there is a surprise cut, it's going to be status quo. There might be a more complex accounting advantage to wait with money in escrow or something like that, but I'm not entirely sure.

I think Gonzalez or Witherspoon would be considered.  I think Stingley didn't run and there were concerns that he was coming off of a down season.
