Sorry if I offended the "pillars."  That term has been thrown out there so many times and in so many contexts that is hard to determine to whom it actual refers.  Just to clarify that it wasn't pointing fingers at anyone in particular but the general attitude on this board regarding race relations.

Again, discussing actual racism is not racist no matter how many times you say it.  I agree that stirring the race pot when there isn't justification is just a cheap political trick that is counter productive to race relations.  Now that is race baiting.  But, every discussion about race isn't race baiting and it sure as heck isn't "racist" to discuss race.

The only reason people even brought race up in this situation was because of the unequal reactions to essentially the same action.  That is what the discussion is about.  Clark does it and look how great she.  Reese does it and look how classless she is.  Yeah, Reese got in her face which took it to another level but what is good for the goose is good for the gander.  If Clark wants to talk ish, she should expect to get it back.

Dont like calling people racist who havent even commented on the matter. Thats all.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

This has nothing to do with racism. This has everything to do with how soft the world has become. Complaining about trash talking in basketball???

Sorry if I offended the "pillars" whoever they are.

And I didn't call anybody racist.  I said that the prevailing attitude on here has been that is that is more offensive to actually discuss race relations and racism than it is to actually be racist.

Heading out for fishing charter.  Have a nice day.

If the confused reaction was in place, I'd be using right now. Who the hell is Caitlyn Clark?

Wait, why did we get rid of that?

It was removed a week or so back - there was conspiracy theories going around about the confused reaction and bans, so it was changed to angry because the reactions can be any emoji

So we going to sign D.J. Fluker or no?

It was hardly the same action though.  Side by side comparison below.  Clark never gestured to the other team, it was to her own bench.  Reese clearly goes out of her way to follow Clark around the court.  I'm all for trash talk and such but I also love respect in the game.  My personal opinion is Clark looked beyond silly doing it.  However, once this happened, the talking heads couldn't wait to make it about race.

However, like so many other talking points in the media, what they show is this.  OK Acho, you showed a clip that was edited down to make it appear what they did was similar.

And for goodness sake, Leslie Knope was all over the court and bumping the refs.  She was the real embarrassment along with the officiating.

Re: the women's final.

Reese was classless. Mulkey got away with murder. The refs ruined the game. The better team won.

JMHO.

C’mon, JR, you played OL.  Taunting and responses are part of the game.  Any game.   Hell, BG does it.  Slay does it.  I am willing to bet most of the OL does it.  I am with @jsb235 on this one.  Reese was giving back a taunt.  (I don’t buy the Clark was doing it at her bench crap at all.) That’s part of the game and the LSU women backed it up by outplaying Iowa.

Mulkey was at the border of what she is allowed to do but not much different than my coach (Kelvin Sampson) using the full length of the coaches box nor just about any coach in men’s basketball doing the same thing.  Siriani does for the Eagles and gets precariously close to pushing it further than allowed.  I didn’t see Mulkey curse at a ref’s call.  We see plenty of that in men’s sports nowadays.

I don’t watch hot take sport shows and turn down the volume a lot on the announcers now. This is so much about nothing.

First,  I don't know why your still going on about "pillars".

Second,  I have not seen any of the so called pillars imply that it was inappropriate for the LSU chick to do that. You don't even know who you are calling racist.  You should be far more careful about that.

3rd, I didn't know you were racist.  Noted.

*you're

Players taunt. There are many examples.  You don't have to like it.  But there definitely seem to be a lot of people saying they retroactively didn't like it when other people did it when they first commented on this incident

I don't follow women's basketball at all so could be wrong on this.  But from what I understand is Clark didn't do the crap talking or hand over face taunt against LSU it was another game against a different opponent. It is very odd how obsessive that LSU player was and has been about Clark in that game with the taunting and thereafter in the media.  Reminds me of Patrick Beverly who usually gets clowned on by the media and online world. That said Clark also did the taunting in a game so yeah not like she's this innocent flower of perfect sportsmanship either but she also wasn't doing it in the LSU game from what I've heard and when she did do it in the other game it wasn't close to that extent that the LSU player did.

The whole obsessive over the top defense of each player by both factions online and in the media has been really weird though.  Cerrtainly when it comes to the media members the racial element plays a big part in it because the media is all about exploiting race for clicks and views.  But I guess good for women's basketball because this has drawn attention to it for once?

Welp looks like Myles Murphy didn't test at pro day today

Can someone do me a favor?  Can you please list all of the actual pillars of the blog so I know who to make the most fun of in here?  Thanks in advance.

I’m with Toast on this.  It has another layer that was a byproduct of the game strategy that Iowa deployed against South Carolina, where they packed the paint defensively and dared SC to beat them with outside shots.  Reese was vocal prior to the game that (A) Iowa was disrespectful to SC in deploying that defensive approach, and (B) if Iowa tried the same approach against LSU they would get a very different result.  So there was an element of "We warned you” Austin’s delivery of her "in the moment” gesture.

That’s an absolutely stupid thing to be upset about. Why should anyone guard a player who can’t make an outside shot when South Carolina has the best offensive rebounding team in the country?

That’s called a smart defensive game plan. What an awful defense of Reese’s nonsense.

No one claimed it. Someone called  someone else a pillar and then it became a label more broadly applied by one of the banned members as a troll attempt.

Yeah i said the same thing. It was honestly the most ridiculous thing LSU ran their mouth about all weekend. So iowa came up with a solid strategy that helped them beat a 36-0 South Carolina team that hadn’t lost in over a year. Meanwhile lsu earlier this year played SC and got hammered by 24 points. So which strategy was more successful and smart, LSU’s game plan where they played SC straight up or Iowa’s where they won by 4? feels more like LSU had an issue and axe to grind with Caitlin Clark and iowa getting all the spotlight and attention than anything else.

it frankly feels like when Peter king was upset about the eagles tush push Qb sneak they perfected. He was upset the eagles found a good strategy that works within the rules of the game and decided to get bent out of shape about it.

those are both positions that need starters, and Davis can't do both.  Davis could be one of many versatile backs who play a few snaps occasionally.

Jordan Davis ran for a TD at Georgia.

Could you just go versatile back to mom’s basement and stay off the internet?

The spin is damage control. If it came out Carter isn't visiting teams outside of the top 10 without anything else, it makes him look even worse. Rosenhaus put a statement out there to defend his decision to not visit teams, because that's his client and his job is to make his client look the best he can.

Rosenahus isn't going to lose credibility. He's been doing this for over 2 decades. Worst thing happens is he falls out of the top 10, and no one is going to care what his agent said predraft. If Carter wanted to visit other teams, he'd be visiting other teams.

I was thinking about this post last night and you know what, you are probably 100% dead on.  Dude is known for playing media games\publicity stunts.  Remember when Willis Macghaee started slipping on the draft board, so every time they started to show the green room and Willis sitting there they were both on their phones, only to find out later they were talking to each other to try entice a team to trade up and grab him?   #lolBills

I also think he did some sort of public workout with TO in 2005 but I could be misremembering.
