NO.

What happened was was that someone said that Richardson sucked at passing.

I said - "NO   226 passer rating does not suck."

I refuted the suck argument with data.

I was not making any argument.  I was refuting an argument.

Perhaps you or someone else is too stupid to understand the difference between using data to refute arguments and using data to make arguments.

I wasn't making the argument that a 226 passer rating - a great passer rating - means that Richardson was great. Very limited snaps that year.  I was refuting the argument that Richardson sucked the year he had a 226 passer rating.   That was the year that Brian Johnson was his Offensive Coordinator and QB coach.  He did not suck.  He barely played,  but 226 passer rating does not = suck.

He. Threw. TWO. Passes. Who gives a F what the "rating” is? He threw two Fing passes. One a TD and one an INT. I don’t care if it was making an argument or refuting an argument. You tried to use that as some "gotcha” moment and were embarrassed when you were called out for using a meaningless statistic that you took no time to look at past the surface. I’m convinced you’re missing a chromosome.

Now go play Madden where the Frankfurt Freakbeasts can be composed of only 11 guys who all play two positions.

So I was thinking about Howie. Howie seems to be a guy who identifies specific guys he really likes and relentlessly pursues them or specific positions he wants to fill. Now, I guess you can say most people do that, but Howie more so. It's in part why he makes as many trades as he does. Now, obviously there are limits to what you can do, and if he can't get what he wants, he's shown he's willing to pivot.

But the Eagles have a top 10 pick. They're rare for the Eagles. I think if certain plans fail, the most likely scenario is trading back. Stockpiling picks is very Howie.

But IMO what's even more Howie is trying to capitalize on being in this position and coming away with a blue chip player with this pick--one way or the other. I can't see Howie just using this pick as a luxury. I think he's going to want to capitalize on having this pick. And coming away with one of the top non QBs in the draft. That to me feels like a Howie move more than anything.

I'm starting to think trading up for Howie might be the most likely scenario... if he can do it giving up 2024 picks. And if he has to give up like a 3rd this year on top of it, trading back multiple times(from 30 and the 2nd rounder) to make up for it.

Certainly possible.  I don't think he makes any trade pre-draft, though; if he trades up it will be on the clock like he did to go #12 to 10 to get DeVonta Smith.

I don't think Jalen Carter will be a trade-up target for them -- I don't even think Howie would take Carter at #10.

How did this dude come back to argue the majesty of two passes again. Holy f.

Yea I don’t really see a pre draft trade happening either. I think the only way Eagles are able to trade down is if one of the top 4 QB fall to 10, and teams like Tampa Bay or Washington trade up.

Murphy must have called Rapoport a d*eater for even suggesting he was meeting with the Eagles

Yes please.  Especially with a trade down.

I agree.  Would be Even better getting him with a trade down.

I wonder what the odds are on the Titans drafting Hendon Hooker at #11.  There was some story out there about them allegedly considering a move up to #3 for a QB (probably planted by ARI), but it would be interesting if they did a Steelers from last season and just draft the guy who played collegiate ball in their own yard.

Might be a smarter move to pull the trigger on him than leave him on the board and be left with The Continuing Adventures of Malik Willis.

Maybe yes lol

What? Really? 2:00 mark and then 2:45 - 3:15 and then 3:35. These are all one cut where he explodes and takes off. I think he might have the best top end football speed in this RB class. Dude is great at making one cut and turning on the jets. I think with read option it’ll be deadly with Hurts.

5:10 is a combination is elusiveness and explosiveness.

5:43 is an off tackle run.

I think he’s the most explosive back in this class.

I give him #2.  Gibbs is #1.

I think Keaton Mitchell might be a bit more explosive; I wouldn't really be attached to either of them, though.  I'm more hopeful of a 210-220 lb RB to take the heavy carries away from Hurts, hedging that Penny won't be able to stay healthy (or be here) long term.

Isn’t 3rd Round pick Trey Sermon the hedge for Penny?

I suspect that is the thinking. With limited picks the Eagles haven't seemed that interested in RBs or WRs to date but who really knows?

Eagles mightve wanted to keep it secret.

If you had to choose which combo would you pick?

1. Banks & Kendre Miller

2. Gibbs & Brents

Agreed. Curious how much higher MW has Banks than Brents.

I would trade back a bit from 30, pick up a late 3rd/early 4th in the process, and take Gibbs in the late 30s. Then I would take Brents at 62.

It wouldn’t be that surprising if Howie rolls with the current RB room and watches the midseason trade market. Penny might survive that long, we have like 12 picks in 2024 and there’s typically a few teams that have lost hope by October.

I saw an interesting comp for Banks a while back, which was Ronald Darby. It was interesting, and I dont think too far off. You dont necessarily have to remember the underwhelming eagles version of Darby. He was a 1st round draft talent who seemed pretty good when healthy. But he wasnt a guy who could mirror in man. A little tightness.

Banks isnt a great man CB. I think its a really solid comp. And while its not a bad pick at the end of round 1 for a CB needy team, its no one to be gushing over as much as @mattwill has imo.

Brents may be as good, or better.

Well, our last good midseason trade was for a RB.  Every single one since has literally been just lighting a draft pick on fire and watching it go up in smoke.
