Well, our last good midseason trade was for a RB.  Every single one since has literally been just lighting a draft pick on fire and watching it go up in smoke.

True - at least picking up a RB on year 3/4 of their rookie deal isn’t a huge projection compared to other positions.

The issue with RB…we all know the one type of RB that does have value is the one that is proven, young, and cheap with few years left on a rookie deal.  So they don’t get traded.

The guys that have about 20 high level games left in the tank…that’s who you can move on.

I saw an interesting comp for Banks a while back, which was Ronald Darby. It was interesting, and I dont think too far off. You dont necessarily have to remember the underwhelming eagles version of Darby. He was a 1st round draft talent who seemed pretty good when healthy. But he wasnt a guy who could mirror in man. A little tightness.

Banks isnt a great man CB. I think its a really solid comp. And while its not a bad pick at the end of round 1 for a CB needy team, its no one to be gushing over as much as @mattwill has imo.

Brents may be as good, or better.

I think I’d put Brents between Porter Jr and Banks personally. Top 2 are interchangeable depending on what you’re looking for. Porter Jr 3rd. Brents 4 (I have him a lot higher than most). Banks 5. Forbes 6 (would be in top 2 convo with more weight).

I also like Jaylon Jones later day 2.

Brents is 4 inches taller which is a pretty significant difference.

Im with you. Porter deserves to be up there. Brents may be better than Banks. And Forbes deserves to be higher if he just had more mass to him.

Like I said I'm not comparing him to Dawk. That said he was a great player and you guys are looking at it through green tinted glasses

Nah, but I might be looking at it through anti black and yellow tinted glasses though.  I'm not denying Polamalu was a talent.  He just wasn't what so many pumped him up to be.   As I showed... if you look at his career statistics... he's a distant third in the trio of Dawkins, Reed and Polamalu... and if you add in Leroy Butler, he's even behind him.  No way should he have been a first ballot HoFer.  Should he have gotten in?  Sure.  But, he wasn't at the tier of being a first ballot guy.  For me, that's the type of honor that's reserved for the truly best of the best.  Waiting a year or two would have been just fine for Polamalu, but he's got the endorsements, even now, for Head and Shoulders, so he's in the public eye all the time.  That doesn't make him a better play, just more recognizable.  But, for me, hair doesn't mean much on the football field, so I disregard that element and look at the player.  The player was oft-injured, oft out of position trying to make the splash play, but still worthy of recognition as a great player.  The issue I take with him (or more exactly his accolades) are that they are higher than his actual performance on the field.

Maybe you grab Forbes and let him pack on some weight, there's plenty of time with our starting duo signed for two years.

He would need significant weight and it would worry me his his game would be impacted. What’s the lightest he could effectively play in the NFL? 180?

Just thinking of options. His production is off the charts and he plays with a nasty streak despite his weight. He'd have plenty of time to pack on some pounds as Greedy/Jobe would be the top outside back up options.

Wouldn’t mind a trade up that ends up like this. Guess I like Anderson Jr just a little too much.

This new player trade feature is fun, this one Carolina prompted the trade for #10 & I’d get Brian Burns plus some switching of picks. Not happening but I liked the results for this one, huge boosts on every level of defense + OL depth

I would be all for that trade up

Yes! I was just playing around with this myself. I almost posted a mock here that had us getting Josh Jacobs, Derrick Brown and Willie Gay plus some good draftees.

Lol or not again

Tank Dell is intriguing. Didn’t test well so maybe he drops to day 3.

Darius Rush is a corner I’d like to explore.  Great size and speed and dominated at Senior Bowl.  23 though

If you had to choose which combo would you pick?

1. Banks & Kendre Miller

2. Gibbs & Brents

1. Assuming both are 30 and our third rounder. Gibbs is a better RB to Miller but Miller with Gainwell is a great RBC.  Gainwell and Gibbs seems duplicative.  But a first on a RB?  In contrast Banks is likely a CB they sign to a second contract.  Brents is hardly as good of late third as Miller would be and at best is the fourth best corner on the team, if he even makes it. Banks is at least a future #2 and likely a future  #1 corner.

Hardly.  Banks is a better man CB. But the hips and feet are there and he is a good tackler. Slay type speed and learning zone from one of the best read and react corners in the NFL (Bradberry).

Chris Simms has had some major fortune teller type hits the last few drafts… but here just 8 hours ago he says Will Anderson is the fifth best edge this year. (1:06:00)

He said he’s not elite, and a tier 3 prospect (Tyree Wilson tier 1, 3 other guys tier 2).

"I would almost bet big money he doesn’t go before the 4 other guys.” That’s a nuts thing to say, maybe he’s in the know. But it sounds like he thinks Anderson shouldn’t be going anywhere near the top 10

Isaiah Foskey has some fun highlights to watch.  Really good use of hands and keeps contain pretty well.  Not a good idea to have a RB trying to pick him up off the edge.

You are way lower on Brents than most. What makes you say that?

Banks and Gibbs (get 'er done Howie), but I'll take Door 2, but with regret.  Actually I'd love to have all four, and they have all appeared in multiple mocks of mine.  I was on the Miller bandwagon earliest, then the Brents bandwagon, then the Banks bandwagon, and eventually the Gibbs bandwagon.
