So all that talk about getting a "unique” player is a lie. Going to get the most blandest, boring player in the draft.

Lukas Van Ness it is.

Now Harden banged knees. They are taking some bruises tonight.

Skoronski. As boring as it gets.

Decided to watch some Van Ness footage finally and I'll say I'm underwhelmed at best. It just doesn't seem like he'll be able to reliably beat NFL lineman.

Being a washout head coach doesn't preclude a person from being great at a role below. It shouldn't be a Scarlett Letter. Might end up drafting a LB a bit higher than predicted.

Actually, Belichek tends towards secondary schemes and DL schemes. Interestingly, his more famous LB, Bruschi and Vrabel, were DEs in college before they were MIKEs.  That was a couple of decades ago.  Not sure that translates today.  Patricia actually started his pro coaching career as an offensive coach.

Counterpoint: He sucks and isn’t a culture fit.

Well PE.com removed mention of him, so……. Supposedly, Howie talked to Big Play Slay before any decision to hire Patricia.  IF he has a position with the Eagles it’s probably advisory to Lurie, Howie, Nick and possibly Desai so culture fit may not be an issue.

It's going to take a lot of coaching and time to hopefully see a leap in his development.

I guess so, what I saw recently was a lot of dependency on Hightower, Van Noy and Collins. Re Bruschi, being a commentator shouldn't make you a famous football player in terms of what happens on the field. He wasn't a special LB. When he was a DC, Taylor, Carson and Banks seemed like a bit of a LB focus.

If we are going to hinge on that work "unique", you have to think 1 is Nolan Smith. Pending the eagles character evaluation, Jalen Carter as well. Gonzalez may be unique with his length and athleticism. Bijan Robinson is unique.

It rules out Skoronski. Iffy on Witherspoon. He may be uniquely physical though. His size is not.

You’d have a tough time selling Nolan Smith to me as unique when he’s being marketed to fans as a carbon copy of Haason Reddick

How can Will Levis score 93 out of 99 on processing when he’s always throwing the ball to the other team?

Fingers crossed for Campbell or Sanders.

I watched more Jack Campbell today; I’m already sold on Sanders.  Campbell is very smart and instinctive — he never seems out of position.  I still worry about his side-to-side pursuit and coverage abilities, though.

Bill Polian said the film for both of them jumps out at you.

In that case, no one is unique. Everyone has an NFL comp if youre in to that sort of thing.

However, take your Reddick comparison. Reddick is one of the elite pass rushers in the NFL. Hence, he is unique. If youre talking about a carbon copy, that player is going to be unique.

Do you think the comp holds up?

Damn great job Mel Kiper

As with almost anyone, it depends on the team. Here, I think it would.

Nothing wrong with celebrating. In fact I would like to have back excessive celebrations and making fun of the opponent.

But that his dropped pass got into his head so much that he would scream do you forgive me now after catching one the next game shows to me he is not a strong personality, insecure of his abilities.

I don't mind celebrating either. Just not for something as simple as making a tackle.

Do people actually like Smith or is this a copium thing I'm seeing?

Refs hosing the sixers tonight
