We are drafting Robinson at 10. I'm good with it. Mazi smith at 30 or later if we trade back I reckon.

I go back & forth over Robinson.  He's a HUGE gamble at 10 (or even trading back and getting him at, say, 13 or 15.  If he pays off, the Eagles will have the best offense in the league by far.  Also, the window for keeping this offense together is pretty big.

Have a bias as a UGA alum and diehard fan. But would I rather have Anderson or Smith, that 2023 RD2, 2024 New Orleans RD2, and possibly some 2023 mid round picks as a possible trade down from 10?

I pick the 2nd one every time.

If the Eagles see Nolan Smith as worthy of a top 10 pick, in Howie's shoes I would have a brief chat with Davis and Dean (separately) to ask them about Jalen Carter.  Undoubtedly, as former teammates they'll say nice things and focus on the positives.  I'd ask them a few "softball" questions and listen for any signs of concern, etc.

As they get up and head for the door I would say "sorry, just one more question while it's on my mind; we only have one pick at #10 -- who do you think would be the better player and better Eagle?  Jalen Carter or Nolan Smith?"  Unless they said Carter without hesitation that would tell me all I need to hear, and Smith would be the preferred option.

Howie and Nick were speaking about Hurts' extension in their PC yesterday, and both of them said the money will definitely not change the player or person Jalen Hurts is.  I think one of them joked he was going to show up at the facility driving a Ferrari.  They've talked many times about Hurts' intangibles, leadership, work ethic and overall character.  From what I've been hearing pre-draft all those qualities line up with Nolan Smith and not with Carter.

It's hard to reconcile that with spending a top 10 pick on Jalen Carter, IMO.

Paris isn't a sexy pick. But I get it.

Draft a RG next year and the OL is completely rebuilt.

Paris offers versatility along the OL.

I do hate a Top 10 pick not starting for the next two years though.

Feel like the Super Bowl window is the most open over those seasons

Probably would start numerous times over the next two years.  Our offensive line is filled with injury prone players.

We are not drafting Robinson at 10.  Please take your ball and go home.

DT's who have made pro bowl drafted 2014 or later

I'm leaning towards wanting Myles Murphy at pick 10

I concur, but the sooner you accept it isn't going to happen the happier you will be.

So with how the Patricia thing played out yesterday, Howie clearly didn’t want it out there right before his press conference, so much so that they deleted him on their website with the other coaching announcements. This also is confirmed to be true as McManus has screen shots of Patricia in the original story. If you have to jump through these hoops just for a defensive assistant, what is the point of bringing him onto the team?

I heard it speculated yesterday that he might have a relationship with Desai from back to 2012, when Patricia was DC with the Pats and Desai was coaching at Boston College.  It seems like a stretch to me because Desai was in Chicago by 2013, but I suppose it's possible.

I think it's likely they want to use Patricia much like they used Fangio in the playoffs last year -- bounce the offensive game plan off him and have him scheme what he thinks the opponent's defensive scheme would be week-to-week.  There's benefit to that because it helps plan for adjustments before the game even starts.

Why they wouldn't use someone like Mike Zimmer for that instead ..... I don't know.

Yeah I suspect he's an offensive assistant,  to keep him distanced from Slay.

Seems he suffers from delusions because I never recalled any interaction he had with the media that resembled anything close to that.  Maybe if he didn't duck out on speaking to the media after the Super Bowl he would have but he we will never know.

My guess is they don't like news to drop right before a PC and then spend the entire time talking about it. With it being announced after the PC, it goes through the news cycle and has less interest the next time Howie/Nick are at the podium.

It was officially announced right after they said last question, so it was clearly pulled back until it was over like you mentioned.

I initially thought that would be his role. Some guy that's remote and not really in the building so he wouldn't be much of a distraction. But Eagles never announce those guys. Beat writers always get a scoop and leak it out. It happened with much less controversial figures like Fangio, Jim Bob Cooter, and even John Dorsey among others. Also Sirianni and Roseman said they had a conversation with Slay and with Patricia about it and it would be "a good working relationship". To me that means that it's going to be much more of a hands on, in the building role. If they were just going to bounce stuff off him, that's a weird statement as Slay and Patricia would have almost 0 interaction with each other.

Sirianni also said how he would be great for the defensive staff, so I don't think it's an offensive role.

I really hate the all-black uniform.  I hated it when the Eagles did it, I think it looks terrible here, too.

Honestly the all-black thing should be reserved for the Raiders and only the Raiders.

Because let's face it......those people and their opinions are important.

Nike can't get anything right.  They combat their ridiculous uniforms with the most bland, boring ones now.  I hate the leotard look that teams roll out anymore when they just got mono color from the jersey down to the sock.  Not sure why so many of the new uniforms are anti stripes.

I also hate the new trend of players untucking their shirt for official uniform photos.  It looks SO SLOPPY.

I do like the helmet and the bigger, more in depth logo.  Shame you can't even see the red speckle.

I just don't see the Eagles taking on a $4mm cap hit for a RB this season. That's what the 10th pick cap hit is, and at 15 it's $3mm. You would essentially be signing a RB to a 4/$22mm at 10 or 4/$17mm at 15. They paid Miles Sanders slightly more than $5mm over the course of his entire contract.

Are there any uniforms made 2010 or later better than the team’s original uniforms? Design people today are so lame. Everything today is bright colors and weird color schemes.

The Nike issue.

Buccaneers only one I can think of but at the same time Nikes first redu of the Bucs uniform was horrendous.

He specifically says media and "at his presser" the media saying that. He may have meant fans or WIP callers but if he did, he couldn't have worded it any worse.
