If the niners trade trey lance then they have to be making another move. Purdy with the elbow is likely missing a month or two next year. I’m assuming they’d be in on a potential cousins or rodgers deal or they’ve been talking to Brady

How can anyone want Rodgers at this point? He makes me ill.

Don’t disagree. But if they deal lance, they are limited in their options. It’s either hope purdy makes it back by week 1 (kind of think it’s a stretch to think he’s back early in the year considering it happened late January), cousins (Minnesota would have to be willing to deal him), rodgers or brady (who might not be worth it at this stage of his career)

Really? I think he's a pretty good looking guy.

I think they’re intrigued by Darnold.

I’m all for them doing that. That’s gonna blow up in their face. I was on the darnold needed a new team when he was with the jets. I think he’ll just blow up in their face and why risk a SB type team in the hands of a guy who’s never proven he can do it. I tend to think the reports a couple weeks back saying. If things fell through with the jets that the niners are interested in going after rodgers. Then have this come out this week. Whether true or not who knows. But there’s been more and more smoke coming out

Here's a question. I'm asking this as someone who would be livid if the Eagles took Bijan. And I stand by my opinion it has no chance of happening. But I'll ask anyway. This question is even for anti Bijan people like me.

What would he have to do with the Eagles to be worthy of the 10th pick if the Eagles drafted him?

Since I already consider the Eagles the best run team in football already that can run the ball at will against any team in the NFL when they need to(as shown at various points in the season including the NFCCG against the #1 run D in the NFL. For me it would be hard for him to improve an already great running game that much. Especially since I think the Eagles running game is 90% the OL and Hurts and 10% the RB. To me adding Bijan isn't like adding AJ Brown to the Eagles WRs. I think that had a much greater impact than Bijan ever would.

So given my feelings on that, I think for Bijan to be worth the 10th pick, he'd need to lead the NFL in rushing by a considerable margin all 5 years of his Eagles tenure. Score double digit TDs each of those years. And average over 5 YPC each season. And aside from stats, just needs to be generally dominant by the eye test. Routinely making big plays(including in the passing game).

And even with all of the above, if an OL/DL/CB taken at 10, 11, 12 etc end up being a stud at their position then to me no matter what he does, it will end up not being worth the pick(in hindsight) because you'd always take a great OL/DL/CB over a great RB.

Silly season, in full effect

This is the formula for $hitsville. Bad team, unprepared to have a multi-threat offense, drafts a great RB, uses him as the focus of their O, he gets hurt and it reinforces the trend of not drafting RBs. The Eagles are in a position to take advantage of his skill set in a more balanced and long-lasting strategy, if they chose to do so.

I think Howie has some trades/signings in him depending how the draft falls

Like @Alphagrand said before. Why pay any price at all to upgrade the RB room? Just draft Robinson if you’re willing to pay Henry.

Bc the pick can then be used elsewhere

Hurts playing 17 games every season would be a tangible benefit.  Last season Sanders had 259 carries and Hurts had 165.  Cut Hurts’ load carrying the ball by a third and that’s 55 extra carries.  Gainwell will get more touches but he’s not a big guy.  Penny might be hurt before training camp is over.

Use and abuse Bijan Robinson to the tune of 300+ carries per year for 5 years.  If that happens and Hurts puts a consecutive games streak together, I think there is significant value in that

I kind of think John Johnson is a phone call away depending on what the eagles do in the draft.

He doesn't play the run, and isn't good enough of a pass-rusher to be that bad at run defense.
As a pass-rusher, he only has a speed-rush too.

So we're looking at an athletic, developmental pass-rusher. Personally, I'd be fine with him at any point in RD2 given the quality of his class. I just don't you're getting much out of him year 1.

who?

Maybe Yannick too.  I feel like there's a mildly flashy move coming at some point.  I think Howie knows you don't want to go into the season just hoping you didn't get much worse

If the Eagles sign Yannick, he'd become the second well-known Yannick in the city of Philadelphia. Does anyone know the other?

Sadly yes. The Flyers player Yanick Dupre who died

I'm not a pro or anti Bijan guy, I'm an I wouldn't be mad at it guy and could get behind him at 10.  I posted this a while back.

I think we can agree that Bijan Robinson is better than Miles Sanders in every way, or at least he should be.  In Miles Sanders best season, last year, he had 259 carries for 1269 yards and 11 TDs.  He only had 3 games with over 20 carries.  One with 27 and two with 21 so he wasn't even a bell cow.

Theoretically, Robinson should be top that, assuming he would be healthy all 5 years.  I'd also wager that if they use 10 on Robinson, he would be the bell cow so I'd say that Miles Sanders best season should be the norm for Robinson.  Robinson is also an elite receiving back so he should easily eclipse the numbers Sanders put up.

Robinson's stats if he averages Miles Sanders 2022 season:

1,295 carries for 6,345 yards and 55 TDs.  LeSean McCoy is the all-time leading rusher for the Eagles with 1,461 carries for 6,792 yards and 44 TDs.

Another thing to add is that it took Shady 6 seasons to do that. Now, those were 16 games seasons too, including a massive 314 carry, 1,607 yard season but IMO, if they draft Robinson, he has every chance to be the Eagles all-time leading rusher after his 1st contract.

One more thing about adding Robinson is that if the Eagles have an unstoppable running attack, it might help with a decision like what to do with AJ Brown in 2025 when he's due $41 million.  Won't feel as forced to have elite WR at both WR positions, even though that would be nice.

Yes, I think it improves our down and short efficiency which would be big plus. It seemed like the only way for us to reliably pick up those situations was either throwing or Hurts running/QB sneak since we always pulled out Sanders in those situations.

I feel like it ultimately comes down to the coaching rather than the player itself. If they don't scheme to his strengths then it was a wasted pick.

I’ll play along.

Six seasons. At least 8,000 yards rushing. Averages around 4.5 yards per carry. Has at least 200 catches. Stays relatively healthy, meaning he misses no more than ten games during the entirety of those six seasons.

That’s what I would reasonably expect from a running back I pick in the top ten.

I’ve been opposed to the idea of picking him, but I would admit in hindsight if he achieves those measures that it was a worthwhile investment.

I want an impact player on defense. A true difference maker. I’m tired of always expecting the other team to convert third and long.

We have a 4 year window with Hurts' contract, we need a player at #10 who has the biggest impact during those 4 years. Bijan is one of the 3-4 players in this draft that does that.

I have a question about this Robinson thing maybe some proponents could clear up for me?

So:

My loose observation is that the Eagles fully modified their offense to predominantly RO & RPO.

There were likely a variety of reasons for that I'm sure........but for me the key letter for both to me is "O" -as in option.

Who controls that?

The coaching staff who maybe called either instead of a drop back, or Pistol or screen or such?

The back?

Or the guy with the ball in his hands on every snap?

Given Siri's quote to the effect of "We're not paying Jalen more to do less"........

wouldn't the key to protecting him (in their eyes) just be convincing him to ........oh I don't know......just hand it off more?  Maybe?.........

and if in fact they need him to carry or threaten to in order to make the run game go -given the other runners currently available in a not going to be abandoned RBC.....is  a first rounder ever going to be needed for that area of this system?

Maybe you're thinking move him to slot, in that case I guess I could see the value.
