Nobody is saying it would be bad, just that it would not be the sky is falling moment for the rest of the league you'd think it is. Lamar has enough of an injury problem on his own. Put him in Shanahan's scheme, I'd be shocked if he got 10 games in.

They uavw the most talented roster in the league and would they would be adding the QB with thr second highest active win percentage in the league who would suddenly have a number of high end offensive weapons to work with along with possibly the leagues bear defense.  It would certainly be a sky is falling moment for the rest of the league.  They would instantly become the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Dont forget to make your entries in to @OCEaglefan annual Master of the Draft contest.

And also dont miss these 2 games as well.

Ive edited the format of the first link down to 15 players each day because no one has joined and someone voiced displeasure about having to rank 25 players. So I lowered it to 15.

2nd link is seeing how many draft questions you get right.

Miles Sanders with an average Oline, rookie QB, and just dumped their star WR. Over/Under on 4.3 ypc?

Not sure their o-line is just average - it's probably better than that.  But it's more of a pure RB job there with Goff.  He will miss the lanes he saw due to Hurts

How many wide receivers do the jets need? If they took JSN then they’d have JSN, Wilson, Lazard, Davis, hardman and mims. No way they keep all those guys if they took JSN

Mims is a bust and Davis is basically a solid rotational guy. That's a pretty nice trio.

My big board for the Eagles

1) Anderson
2) Young
3) Richardson
4) Gonzalez
5) Witherspoon
6) Carter

Trade-down

7) Paris Johnson
8: Skoronski
9) Nolan Smith
10) Bijan Robinson

Cap hits for 10th overall pick (Approximate).

  • 2023: 4M
  • 2024: 4.8M
  • 2025: 5.8M
  • 2026: 7M

A good backup QB makes less than that, with significantly less trade value.

Tommy Lawler on a recent BGN podcast.  Never heard him speak before, was not expecting the sort of country accent.

Pretty sure he's a North Carolina boy

Edit - W4S beat me to it...

I wonder if he thought that was good.

I like the tradeback… I’ll leave it at that.

yeah, trading out of the 1st round, even if just 7 slots should warrant more than a 3rd round pick.  The value of the 5th year option is worth more IMO.

Goff? Miles went to Carolina, not Detroit.

Can we get one of these for the Phanatic to just spray the crowd with hot dogs?

Big Red fan.  Love the cannon. But it’s a college/minor league baseball tool.  Let’s face it.  Those that can afford tickets in range of the cannon in the NFL can afford to buy their own Tshirts.

I'm easily confused so I have no problem admitting I'm confused by your big board.  In a scenario where Anthony Richardson is still on the board at 10, your big board would tell you the Eagles should draft him at #10, rather than trade out or select Gonzalez, Witherspoon or Carter with the intention of keeping him as the Eagles backup QB -- a la Jordan Love with the Packers?

But doesn't he still have his hot dog cannon?  Imagine 140 of them rather than 1!

Gabbert is still in the NFL and some pretty good coaches value him as a backup QB.  He has built a decent career as a clipboard holder (guess we need to change that to a Microsoft tablet holder nowadays - do kids even know what we mean when we describe a G as good in a phone booth nowadays?). Cam had a shorter but more successful career. Last two QBs that Gabbert backed up are Brady and Mahommes.

Not exactly what you look for when drafting a QB in Round 1, which was the context of the comments from the coach about wanting to draft Gabbert over Newton.

More successful career meaning that it wasn't a mistake for the Panthers to select Newton over Gabbert.

Thanks for the correction 😂...I glanced at the blue color in the photo and thought Lions (which is probably why I said their oline was above average)

My feelings haven't changed, Howie will move up and get a guy he loves. Howie doesn't like to let chance dictate to him. I'm feeling a move up for Anderson, Carter, maybe Johnson.

What's with all this draft talk? Is something about to happen?

Folks have been warned for years to use caulk, but some folks just won't listen.  And now finally, the price of heating and cooling has become a problem due to their leaks and folks are freaking out about it all at once.    Spray foam insulation is underrated.

What’s wrong with that

I have Richardson as a top 5 player in this class. As a team, we value backup QB more than any other team. We spend more on backup QB than RB (Bijan), any LB, some guards (Skoronski), etc.

The other issue is that I don't trust this coaching staff to run Hurts less. He's going to get hurt. Richardson playing 2-3 games a year is going to produce a higher WAR than an starting caliber CB or EDGE unless that player is a Pro Bowler, which in this class is unlikely.

Finally, Richardson is such a raw prospect that his value will go up with time as long as he shows anything in pre-season.
