I'll give the 3 of them credit for reluctantly signing budgets they didn't want to pass

They all deserve a lot more credit when it comes to deficit reduction than any Republican President in recent memory. Fact is, if you want to reduce the deficit, elect a Democratic President. Republicans only care about balancing the budget as a political weapon, not as a matter of principled policy, so they'll never follow through when in power, only as the opposition.

If you want to be fair, each one of those guys (particularly Obama and Biden) took office after a spike in the deficit due to exorbitant spending in reaction to a recession. It's like celebrating losing 20 pounds when you're already tipping the scales at 350.

Sure, I was a gluttonous pig for 7 years and puffed up, but hey, I lost weight! 14%! Healthiest human ever! Am I doing it right?

There aren't any good options when it comes to fiscal responsibility, but a Dem President and a Republican House is the combination that garners the best results.

Or Bush 43? I'll give you a hint: it didn't go down.

I never met the guy. Just saying in general, a POTUS caliber guy can probably find a better piece of D than that.

So if he's not available, Sal is the only option.
