Hey you poors that may live an an apartment or have to use a standard outlet to charge your POS car for a multitude of other reasons, buy an EV and miss your kids soccer games and chorus concerts. Paco thinks you should stop and have a cup of coffee instead.

You still probably (depends)  have to pay to use the charger and a few bucks for the coffee. Savings, yo!

Also, I hope my kid still loves me after missing his or hers singing part in the play.

Mine is "pretty good" like I said earlier. I can win a karaoke so long as I can pick the songs and the talent pool is not too deep lol. Think a Peter Cetera (sp?),  but a bit more rough and edgy and not nearly as talented.

I’m not even kidding. I have the voice of an angel.

That's awesome. I wish. I also wish I would have been more inclined or the family could have afforded lessons to learn music as a kid. Piano or something. Oh well.

You don't need a dedicated charger.  You can trickle charge with a standard outlet.  In fact, back at our old townhouse the lesbian couple that rented next door did exactly that with their Chevy bolt.

ya...but they still owned a Chevy Bolt.  Nobody wants to admit to that.

He left out you can only go 4 miles per hour of charging doing it that way.

"But is it affordable???" Lmao. No, it's retarded.

It will be all about solid state batteries to reach that range.  Tech is getting there.

Although I'm not sure why the average joe JT was worried about would need a 500 mile range.

Two things. First, we make long trips in the summer over here which is when we do 80% of all our driving. Second, we want a car we can keep for 20 years. I guess the speed of charging could also solve the problem if it were to improve enough. Anyway, we aren’t talking about a commuter car in our situation. We take the subway into town.

Teslas are close now. Might go for one of those. I've just wanted to wait until the tech reached a spot where I thought we could buy and then keep a car for 15-20 years.

Miles. 400 is probably enough. The yard stick for us is to be able to drive across country to places on the Swedish west coast without having to charge. We are close now with the new Teslas and the quickly improving access to rapid charging over here.

I don't know a lot of gasoline powered vehicles that make it 400 let alone 500 on a tank of gas. Though MPG for cars available in Europe trend higher than those available here in the Freedom states.

Both of mine do.  A basic Audi A6 Wagon that I have can go over 600 of highway miles on one tank.

Projections are the battery’s will lose up to 30 percent of capacity in 10 years.

Yea but filling up a tank of gas is a hell of a lot quicker and easier than charging up a car.

Also an issue though they can be replaced of course. Probably a rather high cost.

And as of right now the used batteries just get tossed in a landfill because they’re aren’t many places that know how to recycle them. Damn hippies killing the planet.

Yeah it is a bit of a joke. We burn gas/coal/oil to get the electricity to power the battery and then throw it in a landfill once it isn’t useful any more.

Sales guys like me can do 500 miles per day easy, and we don’t have 30+ minutes to stand around waiting for a charge.

Just drink 3 cups of coffee and you are good to go, until you get maybe 20 miles down the road and have to ish yourself.

I’d say not. If you’re spending over 7 hours a day driving a minimum of 70 mph to get that easy 500 miles per day… you ain’t spending much time selling anything as it is…
