August 9, 20214 yr FTR, my usual pre draft trade stands. Redden has dibs unless he is out on it this year. 1st and a 6th for a 2nd and a 3rd. You pick which end you want. Trade needs to happen perferably before the positional drawing. Normally I would come up with various scenarios in case its something sick like 1 and 2 overall could fall, but I have a 3 month old and am too damn tired to figure that all out again to balance it out.

It's a position that, unless you are a rube like Agent, take with your last pick because the difference between the best kicker and the 12 best is minuscule at the end of the season compared to other positions. Yet it is the most volatile position from week to week due to factors outside the kickers control, making it a significant variable in the outcome of a matchup. So its ridiculous that two evenly matched teams outcome is determined by the randomness of a kickers weekly performance and why all the major daily sites (Fanduel, Draftkings, Yahoo, etc) ban them for full roster matchups. (Fanduel had last season an only kickers tournament for craps and giggles, but that doesn't count. You can also pick kickers for showdowns, but that's mostly due to the lack of options and 98% of the time you are basically throwing in the towel because your stuck setting your lineup)

Like streaming them week to week and looking for matchups against a team with good RedZone defense, or bad RedZone offense, maybe games you think will be close, etc. I'm down for getting rid of them, but there's ways to negate the randomness of them
August 20, 20214 yr Author I see both sides. Maybe a good compromise would be reducing the kickers impact. No more than 3 points for a FG. -1 for misses. Or even 0.
