I moved to a new state in the middle of COVID when just about everything was shutdown, so most of the people I've gotten to know during and since then are coworkers or people I've met through like golf league or softball. Most coworkers are still remote/hybrid and also those morons who choose to live like 30-45mins away from the office. So on the odd day they are in the office, they could potentially run over to my house during lunch hour, but nobody is going to drive into the office or spend 1.5-2hr of their day to round trip from their house to where I live to take care of a cat.
