You do not understand demand curve. You also do not understand how many domestic brands of butter we have. Removing a few foreign ones because people chose to not buy them because they are expensive will not result in domestic prices going up because they will understand that by doing so they will then lose sales on domestics. People will switch to coconut oil or fake spreads.

They don't realize US is currently in a trade deficit, the US imports raw materials they cannot source domestically, and retaliatory tariffs are also on the table which affects US businesses that export a lot.
