The part that isn't discussed enough is that, if the prices of all imports are raised due to tariffs, then domestic suppliers will also raise prices given the lack of price competition. Companies will look to maximize profits, and they will happily raise prices on domestically produced goods. Markets are dynamic.

Trump entered office with food CPI near record lows during the century. In his one term he took it from -2.3% all the way 5.6% until his incompetence managing COVID destroyed everything. That's an 8% increase is grocery prices just from his policies alone before COVID.   At least Biden had some sort of excuse for his 10%.

You do not understand demand curve. You also do not understand how many domestic brands of butter we have. Removing a few foreign ones because people chose to not buy them because they are expensive will not result in domestic prices going up because they will understand that by doing so they will then lose sales on domestics. People will switch to coconut oil or fake spreads.
