This wouldn't be under discussion if Harris were elected. Theres a reason why credit card rates are as high as they are. So sure, impose a government imposed cap of 10% interest rate, and then we’ll hear all the complaining about how people are getting denied credit cards and how "unfair” it is.

No, no, you see when that happens then we just need use the federal government to once again force private enterprise to give away their product or service at reduced cost, even to unqualified borrowers. And when those borrowers inevitably default en masse, we'll just use more government intervention to bail out the struggling banks. But that's clearly never happened before ever, so I'm not sure why we're even talking about it. Free loans for everyone!

And this is why corruption and collusion are able to continue. Changes can't be made because only doom is the outcome. There are counters, solutions, and push backs. Is 10% the GOP goal or negotiating that caps things at 15 or 17%? Who knows. We'll see. WGB would love for this to be just about 10% vs his elitist and way out of touch statement that people shouldn't buy something they can't pay off. Again, people live high and spend, but many are also not as fortunate.
November 16, 2024Nov 16 All of the sudden the GOP is pro big government, and against free markets and fiscal responsibility. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ten percent is probably the goal with Bernie, but the GOP is using it as a starting point for negotiations to bring in the corruption and collusion between these institutions. There are regulations on them for a reason so the anti-free market line doesn’t fly. It's probably not going to end with a ten percent cap. On the other side we do have a problem with people living high spending money on homes, boats, cars, and other luxuries they can't afford. So we have those idiots and we have the colluding institutions. Both need to change.

It’s really not that complex, if you don’t like the interest rates being offered, don’t get the credit, or choose another lender.

We already have laws against that so if there was proof of that actually happening, there are existing legal actions that can be taken without the need for new legislation. This is the problem with trying to talk any sense into people like you, the definition of words hold no value in the fantasy land you've built up in your head.

But voters need to understand if they want to be protected from "predatory” lending, that means they are the prey and are asking the government to be their shepherd. They can’t have it both ways. Their interest rates are high because they are untrustworthy.
November 16, 2024Nov 16 Heard this on Bill Maher. Could be the word of the year in 2025. Kakistocracy. A kakistocracy (/kækɪˈstɒkrəsi/, /kækɪsˈtɒ-/) is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the seventeenth century.
November 16, 2024Nov 16 I look forward to MAGA continuing to advocate for anti-capitalist policies that Socialists and Marxists would eagerly support while also believing that if Trump doesn't get his way the Socialists and Marxists will win.

There may not end up being a cap. It's the start of things. Maybe the fear of a cap makes them self regulate some of the issues behind what they are after. If people think nothing needs to be addressed then there is no point discussing things.

Yeah what needs to be addressed is people spending money they don’t have. The only people that can address that are those irresponsible people. The gov capping interstate rates on credit cards does not solve anything. Irresponsible people will find a way to be irresponsible and reckless
November 16, 2024Nov 16 Credit cards are just bad for the average person. Most have a lack of discipline. If you're disciplined and/or of means it's a useful tool and convenient. You can track and pay your expenses once a month. You can limit the exposure of personal accounts. If you're at least disciplined you can purchase a want or need and pay it off. The amount of 1 and 2 year old cars being repossessed would suggest a lot of people lack that discipline.

"WGB would love for this to be just about 10% vs his elitist and way out of touch statement that people shouldn't buy something they can't pay off.” the fact that you think what you just said is an "elitist” statement is the problem. No, it’s not elitist to think that people shouldn’t buy something that they can’t afford, it’s actually common sense and sound financial advice. are you saying that Dave Ramsey is elitist?
