Are there people out there that are impressed by this or excited because of it? Against air, a go route, WR has to slow up.

He's basically a rookie .... that's why they're watching him

Daniel Jones is a better QB than most Eagles fans believe but not a top ten QB.

Trevor Reid may just stick as an inactive development player for Stout.  A lot depends on how he takes coaching. Should be an interesting summer for Stout University.

As a boomer, having been through all phases of YouTube from its birth, solely as a user, I would be surprised that shorts would bring in much money or return visitors.  But I do use the How To and Product Review videos as well as I have found some cooling, gardening and BBQing videos hosts that I follow.  Would seem that if you regularly produce videos in those genres that are honest and useful, that those would be the greater revenue returners. (You can tell promoters from reviewers most of the time.)

@HazletonEagle ever thought about putting your training expertise into videos?  Could see those as potential moneymakers.

I've thought about it but I feel like it's a big liability.

Kids stuff can be a big money maker on YouTube. Adults don't usually watch stuff more than a handful of times outside of maybe sports highlights or concerts. Check out how many views "Baby Shark" has. They want to hear the same stupid stuff over and over and over again.

As long as you're morally ok with contributing to the screen time problem in little kids that is.

It's interesting to see how YouTube channels grow and change. A lot that I follow alter their course after "making it big". I love car restoration stuff and two channels that got me hooked were Vice Grip Garage and Goonzquad. Both channels were MUCH better in their earlier days as the content was pure and what built their channels.

VGG is a ho-hum salt of the earth, Mid-Western family man who would revitalize and drive home cars that hadn't been touched in decades. They've since moved from Minnesota to a multi acre complex with what appears to be a 6 bay garage in Tennessee. The content has changed a lot as Derek makes a lot of appearances at car shows and such but there are still great builds, revivals and he even got his own TV show on MotorTrend.

Goonzquad is two very young brothers who buy destroyed cars and fix them. They started out with Jeeps but are now currently restoring a Lamborghini. Their channel has grown a ton and is sadly becoming more of a flex than a car rebuild site. Recent content is watching them build a substantial house in the mountains and buying a brand new Shelby F-150 only to use it doing burnouts towing a boat.

Both channels are bringing in excessive cash and they've both taken a dive in to car giveaways by selling merchandise. It's just interesting to see both of them in their growth. One stayed humble, while the other not so much. I prefer when a channel is smaller because it's being built on content that people really want to see.

My friend just started a YouTube channel opening packs of sports cards looking for autographs specifically... I try to help him and tell him what draws me into videos and he doesn't want to hear it. Probably why he only has 25 subscribers in 5 months lol.

So many people want to be YouTube stars these days. Big part of success seems to be the algorithm's and such too. You have to have good, scheduled content. Channels I follow, they have schedules and they release content continually on the same days.

I had an idea with my niece and nephew when they were really young to have them play with and react to toys from decades past. Part of the plan was to have viewers send in toys from their youth and have my niece and nephew try to figure out what they were and then play with them. Could have been anything from tin toys of the 20s-40s up to toys from the 80s and 90s. Would have been cool to see what people still have in their attic collecting dust and then having the toys be used again. I thought it would get engagement from different generations with nostalgic feelings towards toys they used to have but also engage a younger audience with their kids. Never got around to it and I also didn't want to exploit kids on social media.

This is one of the things I told him, I said that way I know when to look for his content like I do other channels I follow. He said just turn notifications on. I said that is all well and good but, your stuff is gonna get lost in the algorithm, like you said. Plus I have notifications turned off because I don't need my phone blowing up nonstop from all the channels I'm subscribed too

I expect an outcry on behalf of Reddick. I'm not big on ranking edge rushers, or ranking much of anything else, truth be told. My first thoughts on seeing this were:

1. How great it is to have two top-flight OTs;

2. How the read-option can be used to nullify great edge rushers;

3. The classic counter to the RO is the scrape exchange. The counter to that counter is the RPO, which we run a lot.

I really like how our offense is designed to diminish the impact of great edge rushers.

I don't Daniel Jones is ever going to make money with deep throws.

Every once in a while when I go on to Youtube, some old school game will be on my page and I'll watch the highlights and then go down a rabbit hole of classic games. Yesterday it was some games from the late 90's and one thing I completely forgot was this theme:

Shorts are like when you're at the store and you're checking out but there's a line. You pick up one of the scandal sheets and flip through it for a few seconds and then put it back on the shelf when the line moves.

I personally use them just as a way to promote other full length videos. That does work in bringing views and subscribers, but they only make a tiny amount of money. The only 'benefit' (at least for me), is getting my channel seen by a wider audience that otherwise might not find me. Bigger or more popular channels likely benefit 10 times more than mine, but there is some benefit there.

Some of my How To's are bigger revenue earners for me than other videos, and I'd concentrate solely on that if I had more things to 'how to', but I basically only do one of those videos when I have to fix something or do something that others may have to do.

For instance, about 10 years ago, I bought a small counter top icemaker because my refrigerator at the time didn't have a built in icemaker. It cost something like $79.99 when I bought it. A few years ago, I set it up and put my camera on a tripod and recorded a 2 or 3 minute video showing how it works to (fairly quickly) make ice. Since uploading it, that product demonstration video has made me a few hundred dollars. I wish I had a couple hundred videos doing that lol.

Okay, so I guess that guy whose videos (62 of them to be precise) I watched last summer actually WAS you.
