It's 4 times more for the men. I don't know the viewership numbers and you have to remember that it's not a national sport, but a worldwide sport. If you can produce the numbers that prove how much revenue the women generate on their own and compare that to the revenue the men generate, we can have a valid discussion on what is fair or unfair. But demanding equal pay for something that has less consumer appeal is ignorant. That's like somebody with a silver mine demanding equal pay to someone with a gold mine that produces the same weight of product.

I am by no means a "soccer" fan, but I have watched men's games and women's games and there is a night and day difference in the game play.

I know this isn't soccer, but here's a comparison between the NBA and WNBA: https://www.wsn.com/nba/nba-vs-wnba/. We pretty much need the same information for other sports when talking about player salary fairness.

It's a similar story over here with Men and Women's sport.  The money earned with playing for the men's national football team is pretty paltry vs their overall comp for the club; in the realm of "don't bother paying me" for the top players.  Whereas for the women, it would be a good chunk of change for most players to get the men's bonus.  I don't blame the Women for asking (never be shy about asking for more money), but there has to be a commercial reality involved; sports are not charities, they are businesses with costs and expenditure associated.  And the biggest revenue earners tend to get the biggest comp for the services sane as private enterprises.

I am not intending to ish on women's sport - it looks to be improving very rapidly, but I don't have the free time to do sit and watch it just because it's on. The same goes for a lot of people too.

Part of the issue that gets skewed domestically is the relative performance of the women's team compared to the performance of men's team. In almost all other countries, with the exception of maybe Japan and Sweden, the women's team fares comparably or slightly worse to their men's team. But here, we have become accustomed to seeing the women consistently dominate their peers at the international level while the men consistently flounder.

Which is probably why so many Americans follow the women's team closely and watch them play in the world cups and Olympics. So from our perspective, the numbers seem even worse as a result, but if you were in most of Europe or South America, you'd probably not think twice about it because the men's team is by far the main draw and the women's teams in the vast majority of those countries is an after thought.

I took a geology course in undergraduate about 30+ years ago.  It was pretty convincing but who knows maybe I'll check out Facebook.

Guy states the obvious claiming sources.

Zack Martin should demand a trade.

The men's and women's soccer teams should be paid equally, because I wouldn't pay a nickel to watch either one.

As for other sports, well ......

With the young talent they've brought in at CB, Could we see a Sydney Brown/Kelee Ringo safety duo? Wasn't there a lot of talk that he projects better as a safety?

Yup. They really need to get Harper at first to see if he can play the position day today as well as just be able to be competent at first base. I don’t doubt over time he can be good at it but that might not be this year. Give yourself as many games as possible before the deadline to figure out if he can do it day to day and play it well enough. Because if he can’t, then you don’t wanna go get an outfielder. you wanna go get a first baseman or a third baseman and move bohm over the first.

tbh the guy that solves all this problem is probably Cody Bellinger. Because he can play all three outfield positions and first base. He’s won a golden glove at both positions. The only downside is he’s a left-handed bat. However, he’s hitting 342 against lefties and 286 against righties so if he hits that way who cares

That works for me... but what does it cost?

Better yet... just go get Ohtani.  He can fit the bill to give better depth on the pitching front AND fill in the outfield problem.   Two birds... one great big stone!

Lol,  NFL = Boot and Lev Bell = ant.

He did nothing for RBs. It got worse after his drama.

All he did was cost himself about 25 million dollars.  (missing year, worse contract, and he could pretend he was elite in that offense and his career cratered in NY)

His running style was standing still while O-lineman mauled people and then running in the hole they made. The Steelers lineman were underpaid.
