Players and former players are so damn dumb lmao. There are probably 200+ rostered RB vs 32 kickers, I would bet if you averaged the starters salaries it would probably be triple the average kicker's salary

You can also make a case that Tucker is more valuable/irreplaceable than any non-top 15 running back. And all those guys are making more than Tucker.

Kickers can also play until they are 40 so they get more 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th contracts.

The last regrettable kicker contract may have been double doink.

The last 10 regrettable RB contracts were all of them.

Knowing that much of their success last year was riding Barkley and not having Jones throw further than 2 feet.....

Since when did this site have a dark mode? I’ve been blinding myself this whole time.

Do you look at this and think Oilers throwback or do you look at it and think another black uniform?

Looks like a Panthers uniform at the end ....

Plot twist, they sign Elliott for near vet min or Cook and they both do just as good

That's not going to work out for him

Since January

Look at how ridiculous this move is by Carter. Boy if he keeps his head on straight he's going to be fun to watch.

If Barkley holds out to the last minute but shows up around weeks 8-10 (whatever the deadline is) to still get credit for the season then he wins.

The damage he does is not just to the Giants but also his teammates but this is just about RBs now so f them, right?

If he holds out all year then he is as stupid as Lev Bell. The Giants still rake in 600 million (gross) without him and have him for the same number next year.

BTW, this fight is over Saquon wanting 15m a year and the Giants wanting to give him 13.7 a year (or something like that) Its not like the Giants don't want to make him rich on top of rich. They just don't want to pay him what he wants.

I look at that and think... why all the freaking build up?  Just release it.

They don't even need retro week. They have the perfect outlet and that's TNF. They could do Throwback Thursdays for every TNF game. I know it would get me interested 100% in watching those games. I have no idea why they don't take that idea and run with it.

Throwback uniforms, broadcasts, fields, graphics. The whole 9 yards.

  You are about 111 yards short of a football field.

(1 yard short of a first down.)

Barkley already said that report was false on what they have offered him and what he's looking for.

Too many people bootlegging in this thread

WOW!!

If I'm reading that correctly, that guy he pushed around like he was on wheels was a 6'3", 307 pound lineman.  He's gonna be fun to watch.

I'm on Barkley's side on this.  He should not show up until whatever week he needs to accrue the season. Let's see how good they do with Breida or whatever else trash Rb they have.  The Giants have their leverage in the tag.  The players have theirs in refusing to play under it.  Good for him

Barkley's main hurdle is that he hasn't been a dynamic player since his injury.  He returned for all of 2022 and played a full slate, but averaged 4.4 yards per rush and 5.9 yards per catch -- you can get almost anyone to do that.  You can't give a long term extension based solely on what the player was 2+ years ago.

His best bet IMO is come back, show the burst he lost is still there, and cash in (such as it is with RB) as a UFA after the season.  Sitting out the year isn't going to do him any good; there will be another crop of rookie RBs to take his place.

And if he suffers a career threatening injury playing under the tag and never gets another contract?

If I were him, I would hold out.  Make the Giants play the season with the trash they have at RB.  Let's see how much their investment in Danny Dimes pays off when they are one dimensional and he is on his back all game because there is no running threat.

The best case scenario for both parties is they reach an agreement acceptable to both but that doesn't seem.like it is going to happen.

Before we get the terrible "pregame fit" tweets, we're going to have to endure a lot of camp arrival videos. This stuff is so dumb.

Behind that OL?  Maybe or maybe not.  We may get to find out if they are or are not able to do that with their backup RBs.

Wrong sport.  And...his bat would be illegal in MLB anyway.  Plus...

Bad look, all around, especially the slow motion nonsense.

It looks like he means anything but business.  Is there a heat wave there, why no shirt?  What's he gonna do with a bat, were the police called?

He's taken a few too many Hard Knocks to the head ....

What's worse, those or off season Ben Simmons in the gym videos?

Then the Giants will be proven right not to pay him.
